http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/11366206/Gary-Neville-The-era-of-the-gaffer-is-over.html The biggest thing I take from this article is that it's STILL seen as a novel concept for all departments within a football club to work together. It's absolutely nuts, and just shows how completely blinkered the majority of those within the game are, and why we're so far behind the likes of Spain, Germany, France, etc in terms of domestic player development.

It's fine for me as I'm always at the games so don't have to put up with their coverage

Difficult to see any upsets there, really. Not even sure Bournemouth winning at Villa would even qualify as an upset, 12 goals in all competitions this season vs 73 There could be 13 Premier League teams in the last 16, with 3 guaranteed Football League clubs, one of which must come from League One (Preston v Sheffield United). Not sure anybody would fancy drawing the latter, mind you...

Yep, he and second-string presenter Matt Smith had already been told their contracts weren't being renewed when they expire in the summer.
-
Fortunately, from next season they've only got England games.
-
That salary figure's not right. It was £4.5m a couple of years ago but he signed a new contract last year at a much-reduced £500k. Still overpriced, mind you...

Not quite so fun on the other side, is it?

Cup tickets - were any posted out to ST holders?
stevegrant replied to Jackie@home's topic in The Saints
Would imagine you'd be able to get duplicates printed at the ticket office. The only posted tickets would have been for those not sitting in their season ticket seat, and general sale tickets. -
I assume that's based on estimated revenues, considering our accounts for 2013/14 haven't been published yet.
-
I assume there were boos from the sparse home crowd, they love a boo at Goodison.
-
Won 5-4 on penalties
-
I assume neither PFC or the PST has released audited accounts yet, still?

Senegal are good, but they have been drawn in the proverbial Group of Death alongside Algeria, Ghana and a resurgent South Africa, so it's a bit of a wild stab in the dark as to whether they'll qualify for the knockout stages. If they do get through the group, though, they'd be highly fancied to go all the way.

Spurs seem to be the polar opposite of us last season, they take ages to get into games and then go mad in the latter stages as they seek to rescue results.

McQueen's looked very good here, just looks so much stronger and more composed than the rest. -

Who is the commentator? Not exactly a smooth commentating voice... Oh, and GOAL -
For me, I just have to log in and it's already in my basket (along with the tickets for everyone else on my friends and family list who hasn't yet bought theirs ), so try just logging in and then click on the basket at the top of the screen.

Surprised they get a choice. Normally, unless there are different price categories or restricted view tickets, the home club basically tells the away club in which order they want the tickets sold, so if they don't sell them all and want to return some, they can be resold to home fans. If 44 and 45 are the only ones available, that suggests they've probably already sold 46, 47 and 48 (the latter two are combined, right in the corner, I think), but that they're not going to sell the 500 or so they'd get in 43 until they know they're actually going to be needed. The fact that all of 42 is available to home fans seems to imply that they've decided the 3100 allocation is enough and they won't be wanting any more. Really difficult to believe the club would balls that up twice in the space of a few weeks.

20 points dropped from winning positions last season: Chelsea (away) 1-0 up, lost 3-1 Tottenham (home) 1-0 up, lost 3-2 Sunderland (away) 2-0 up, drew 2-2 Arsenal (home) 1-0 up, drew 2-2 Stoke (home) 1-0 and 2-1 up, drew 2-2 West Ham (away) 1-0 up, lost 3-1 Tottenham (away) 2-0 up, lost 3-2 Man United (home) 1-0 up, drew 1-1 A frankly ridiculous 29 points dropped from winning positions in 2012/13: Man City (away) 2-1 up, lost 3-2 Man United (home) 1-0 and 2-1 up, lost 3-2 Everton (away) 1-0 up, lost 3-1 Fulham (home) 1-0 up, drew 2-2 Swansea (home) 1-0 up, drew 1-1 Norwich (home) 1-0 up, drew 1-1 Stoke (away) 1-0 and 3-1 up, drew 3-3 Arsenal (home) 1-0 up, drew 1-1 Man United (away) 1-0 up, lost 2-1 Wigan (away) 2-1 up, drew 2-2 Newcastle (away) 1-0 up, lost 4-2 West Ham (home) 1-0 up, drew 1-1 To contrast that, our record in past seasons when losing has been pretty poor as well. Last season, 6 points gained from losing positions: Sunderland (home) 1-0 down, drew 1-1 Man United (away) 1-0 down, drew 1-1 Stoke (away) 1-0 down, drew 1-1 Man City (home) 1-0 down, drew 1-1 Newcastle (away) 1-0 down, drew 1-1 Arsenal (home) 2-1 down, drew 2-2 In 2012/13, 9 points: Aston Villa (home) 1-0 down, won 4-1 Fulham (home) 2-1 down, drew 2-2 Fulham (away) 1-0 down, drew 1-1 Chelsea (away) 2-0 down, drew 2-2 Wigan (away) 1-0 down, drew 2-2 Sunderland (away) 1-0 down, drew 1-1 Stoke (home) 1-0 down, drew 1-1 This season, only 4 points so far: West Ham (away) 1-0 down, won 3-1 Aston Villa (away) 1-0 down, drew 1-1 But we've only actually been behind at any stage in 8 league games this season. Only Chelsea and Man City have better records than that, with 6 and 7 respectively.

Agent Connolly finally leaves Pompey by "mutual consent". A fine job, well done.

The club still don't seem to have quite nailed the "buying your own seat for cup games" thing on the online ticket site. For the Ipswich game, it wouldn't let me buy tickets for anyone on my friends and family list, so everyone had to buy separately. It's gone from one extreme to the other for the Palace game, as when I logged in, my basket was automatically full with tickets for ALL of my friends and family who hadn't already bought theirs! Had to manually remove each one
