  1. Ok, gotcha!
  2. Well I think Reading probably need him TBH !
  3. Thought it should have been consigned to the archives ages ago but it's a bit like a soap opera, just runs and runs. Has been a pointless thread for some time now IMO.
  4. Sorry, you've lost me ! Crump deservedly won the overall series, Pedersen won the Polish grand prix but was nowhere to be seen in the overall standings.
  5. Back to AP and I was pleased when he was appointed, been very impressed with his dealings in the transfer market and his whole attitude towards rebuilding the club. Does not get carried away and that will help keep the players feet on the ground though I reckon the likes of Connolly, Hammond and a few others will help in that respect.
  6. Don't dare start one or I reckon it should be a lifetime ban
  7. Agree with all that, nothing or nobody will ever persuade me that Lawrie was not the best thing to ever happen to this club though of course it was dear old Ted Bates who made it possible ( and continued to advise him after LM took over ) so the 2 stand side by side for me. Reminds me some years ago they published book of "prayers" somewhat tongue in cheek it has to be said. Lawrie's contribution was : "As I grow older, you get nearer, any chance of Alan Shearer!" Always makes me chuckle anyway.
  8. When you see PL strikers missing even easier chances than the one MS missed I'm prepared to cut a little slack to a 19 year old who I believe is a very good player. Maybe watching the likes of Lambert and Connolly will show him how it should be done, he has the skill but just needed more composure in this instance.
  9. He did very comfortably, by 15 points.Nicki Pedersen won the Grand Prix.
  10. Crump certainly deserves to be champion and I'll be rooting for him. Belle Vue fell to pieces when he got injured sparing Poole the embarrassment of a relegation play off ride. If he is close to full fitness I'd expect him to clinch the title with a bit to spare especially after managing 4 points in Italy when clearly in pain.
  11. On a lighter note...... Two Aussie builders (Phil and Eric) are seated either side of a table in a rough pub when a well-dressed man enters, orders a beer and sits on a stool at the bar. The two builders start to speculate about the occupation of the suit. Phil: - I reckon he's an accountant. Eric: - No way - he's a stockbroker. Phil: - He ain't no stockbroker! A stockbroker wouldn't come in here! The argument repeats itself for some time until the volume of beer gets the better of Phil and he makes for the toilet. On entering the toilet he sees that the suit is standing at a urinal. Curiosity and the several beers get the better of the builder. Phil: - 'Scuse me.. No offence meant, but me and me mate were wondering what you do for a living? Suit: - No offence taken! I'm a Logical Scientist by profession. Phil: - Oh! What's that then? Suit: - I'll try to explain by example... Do you have a goldfish at home? Phil: - Er... Mmm . Well yeah, I do as it happens! Suit: - Well, it's logical to follow that you keep it in a bowl or in a pond. Which is it? Phil: - It's in a pond! Suit: - Well then it's reasonable to suppose that you have a large garden Phil: - As it happens, yes I have got a big garden! Suit: - Well then it's logical to assume that in this town if you have a large garden then you have a large house? Phil: - As it happens I've got a five-bedroom house...built it myself! Suit: - Well given that you've built a five-bedroom house it is logical to assume that you haven't built it just for yourself and that you are quite probably married? Phil: - Yes I am married, I live with my wife and three children. Suit: - Well then it is logical to assume that you are sexually active with your wife on a regular basis? Phil:- Yep! Four nights a week! Suit: - Well then it is logical to suggest that you do not masturbate very often? Phil: - Me? Never. Suit: - Well there you are! That's logical science at work! Phil: - How's that then? Suit: - Well from finding out that you had a goldfish, I've told you about your sex life! Phil: - I see! That's pretty impressive...thanks mate! Both leave the toilet and Phil returns to his mate. Eric: - I see the suit was in there. Did you ask him what he does? Phil: - Yep! He's a logical scientist! Eric: - What's that then? Phil: - I'll try and explain. Do you have a goldfish? Eric: - Nope. Phil: - Well then, you're a w***er.....
  12. The last time I cried into my hanky was about a year ago when my Dad died. You know what ? It wasn't funny, death may be inevitable but funny it most certainly is not. When someone shows a complete lack of respect and posts a homophobic thread on someone who has just died then that's just wholly unacceptable. That was the reason I started the thread in the Lounge as I'm entitled to but even then certain muppets decided to hijack it and get it closed showing disrespect not only for Stephen Gately but myself as the originator of the thread. On those points I am very clear. To be honest I'm getting pretty damned tired of your smug, know it all remarks but post what you like, just leave me out of it.
  13. One to follow: No One Likes Us. Hampered early and racing in the rear but he made eye catching late headway on the rails to finish 6th at 66/1. A similar race should be well within his compass and he’s one to look out for on the all weather this winter.
  14. So it has gone totally off the point and as you say become more of a personal issue. What has that got to do with the original topic? Nothing I suggest though I'm not going to go even further off the beaten track and argue the point!
  15. Is it only me that thinks this thread has gone off the point completely ?
  16. Both worthy candidates and especially Phil Taylor who has now been winning World titles since 1990. I think ( not sure) this is his first "Gland Slam" and the first ever unless I misheard the commentators on Sky. Also has SEVEN televised nine dart finishes, sheer perfection.
  17. Button if he wins the WC, motor racing drivers nearly always win if they do so. Took a guy with a stackful of Olympic gold medals to push Hamilton into 2nd last year. So Jessica Ennis with a "mere" gold medal from the World Championship is unlikely to beat him but will be in the top 3 for sure. Cavendish is a good shout but unlikely to feature.
  18. It will definitely be a great day but not necessarily painful if you have put in the training, don't try to go too fast ( several long runs at an even pace should help to establish a decent but comfortable pace)and take drinks as required. Cramp is the most likely problem and obviously if it is a hot day that becomes more likely. But whatever you do just blooming well enjoy the experience !
  19. Lingfield 1.50 King of Defence Goodwood 2.35 Master of Dance ew
  20. Utterly shameful, what is wrong with certain people on here. I didn't start the thread for your amusement so show some respect.
  21. Singer with Boyzone.
  22. Died suddenly today, he was only 33. RIP.
  23. Think this covers it: "Personal abuse and prejudice such as racism/homophobia will still be dealt with in the same way as it is elsewhere on the site, as will images or links to pornography."
  24. In that case it has to be said that even by TMS standards this is in very poor taste when someone has just died. Very surprised at the lack of respect.
  25. Actually I think this is appropriate to The Lounge to be honest.
