Unfortunately it's clear certain people wouldn't recognise when something was racist if it smacked them in the face. I did expect a response from a few and if you think there is nothing racist about some of the comments on here then more fool you. And I agree with that, the real point being as I suggested at the outset of this thread is that there are laws in place which are supposed to deter incitement to violence etc but this pathetic Government we have is clueless in just about every respect. After reading 400+ posts on here I'm not in any doubt that the EDL is just another group designed to provoke more violence and to be honest the amount of comments on this thread which are racist, abusive or in some cases both is staggering. Frankly I'm amazed it's still going.

6 months is the maximum Jobseekers you can get based on your NI, after that it is means tested and Housing Benefit is always means tested. Trouble is of course if you are unemployed for a lengthy peroid you are almost certainly not to have the means to live on so you end up getting Jobseekers ( Income based) AND HB. The Jobcentre does have various programmes you are obliged to attend if you are out of work for a year but that by no means guarantees a job. Amongst many things the problems include: a) Too few staff working in Jobcentres and far too much for them to do which actually demotivates them as well as their clients. b) Atrocious management at many Jobcentres which actually ( and not surprisingly) filters down from the very top. It often means that those staff who are actually capable of doing a good job ( many are not TBH) are prevented from doing so as they are asked to work in a way which is not effecient and get branded as trouble makers if they dare to argue the point. c) Too much emphasis based on achieving non achievable targets which means staff are under even more pressure ( again from the top) to try to achieve these targets and this not only promotes a feeling you need to cheat to try to get even close but also acts against team working. d) Too many of the firms who advertise via the Jobcentre are appalling, take the mickey in respect of salaries and even in some cases mislead in their job adverts. This in spite of the Jobcentre employing staff specifically to find suitable employers. Anyway this is off the original point though as I said many posts ago the real issue in so far as the stated aims of the EDL are is that this Government should damn well ensure our troops abroad are given proper equipment to do their jobs and also ensure those who incite violence are punished by the laws which are supposed to prevent this. In terms of the Jobcentre the Government needs to completely revamp it, when it became Jobcentre Plus ( as opposed to just Jobcentre) I'm not sure the "Plus" was intended to mean plus a load of BS but it does!

And just as well too since of course the days when National Insurance alone paid for state pensions are long, long gone. This could be any figure but if you're under say 40 don't rely on ever getting a state pension. For a start the age will be at least 70 (it's rising to 65 for women by 2020 anyway) in the next 20/25 years and the promise of a pension when you reach retirement age means nothing and to think people who don't work for a few years actually pay VOLUNTARY contribtions is mind boggling. My very strong advice is don't bother, aside from anything else you can only need to pay I think it's for 90% of your working life. Also a good idea to get a pension forecast though it will show how little you'll get as opposed to how much ! http://www.thepensionservice.gov.uk/state-pension/forecast/home.asp Also once you reach 60 you'll get pension credits automatically but don't rely on even those who work for that Department to tell you because believe me there is a fair chance they'll not know and I speak from experience. Any male over 60 "signing on" just for NI credits need not bother but again most Jobcentre staff don't know either you don't need to. Truly pathetic state of affairs, in fact you are seriously better off asking the CAB or any similar group.
