For me it is very simple. 2 months ago we were facing oblivion. Along comes Markus Liebherr and we have a team to support but no manager and no team to speak of. Now the team is taking shape, money has been spent and spent wisely. Lambert in particular is a top notch signing. Why did the original sorry state come about? Well of course it was essentially down to bad management and spending money we did not have. So why would be over stretch ourselves again, ML is not a cash machine. So as I see it it is very simple but others seem to want to put their own spin on just about everything and I say to them for God's sake give it a rest.

My thoughts exactly !

Cripes, 152/5. Briggs has got both Trescothick and de Bruyn.
-
This is just pathetic and has absolutely no place on this board. Should be deleted asap, possibly the worst of a series of ridiculous posts/threads. We really do have some idiotic fans.
-
Yes, looks like Trescothick is going to be their saviour, 144/3 at lunch. No idea what is wrong with Dimi Edit: Hopefully does not seem too serious... But former England opener Trescothick compiled his seventh Championship century of the season...... kept a Hampshire attack lacking captain Dimitri Mascarenhas - who limped off with a bruised heel - at bay long into the afternoon. http://www.rosebowlplc.com/news/lvcc_vs_somerset_day_3/

Well an early breakthrough but unfortunately it was not Trescothick. At least Ervine is no longer shown as bowling an incomplete over!

Benitez is the single biggest reason Liverpool will not win the Premier League. They have a squad almost good enough but still think they are a striker and a midfield player light. Alonso is an exceptional player but so is Gerrard, as St Will say he is world class.

Man Utd beat Arsenal 2-1 yesterday but were actually very poor and somewhat lucky. Were there fans moaning ? I suspect not as they won. We play pretty well, get denied a win by the most dubious of penalties and it's doom and gloom for some people on here. Yes it would not have mattered had we been 2-0 ahead but we weren't and many games are won by the odd goal. IMO opinion Pardew is a million times better than any one we have had as a manager since Strachan and is doing well given the short time he had. If people want a miracle worker then I'm afraid you'll not find one in this life. Time to get a grip and get real, we are getting better and the results will go our way sooner or later I have no doubt.

Oh boy, a 10 year old would not have fallen over if hit by such an innocous "shot" ! It's impossible to be sure but is it not likely Rivaldo's over reaction may well have influenced the ref into giving a red card otherwise it's a yellow for me, it didn't even catch him in the unmentionables but merely on the side of his leg !
-
No, it was a clear penalty !
-
Which one in particular as I can think of a few or is it a rhetorical question ?
-
Which we didn't and the day ended with Dimi not bowling and Ervine and Tahir (again) bowling incomplete overs so I suspect another injury. But nothing on Cricinfo mentioning any injuries in their report which is pretty abject.
-
Not just yet, Somerset 393 all out ! Tahir finished with 7/140. Dimi did not bowl again so I guess he must be injured. Just hope it is not too serious. Somerset are now following on.
-
I haven't said I disagree with the principle just that they have ( in my opinion of course to which I'm entitled) singled out the wrong player. I still very much doubt he dived and as I have already mentioned though perhaps no one else thinks it is relevant when it clearly is he was the victim of an awful tackle last year so might well be inclined to shy out of a challenge. It's the fact that diving is too prevalent that makes singling out Eduardo so ridiculous as if they are serious about this I am sure there were many players guilty of diving during all the mid week European games.
-
Oh, one very well known incident, is that it ?
-
Worryingly that would be the only reason I could think of unless one of them was warned 3 times for running on the pitch and unable to bowl in the rest of the innings ? Briggs and Dawson were bowling just before lunch, might suggest Tahir cannot bowl for some reason. We really do need to get rid of Trescothick, he's got his century now.

Vote for MLT as the greatest ever Premier League striker

It's only alowing me to vote once -
Ok, thanks for that info, shame Trecothick could not hit one straight to a fielder! Anyway, if the weather mirrors that here it will be dry and bright and far less windier. Pressure is certainly on Somerset who realistically can only hope for a draw at best. But oh for the win we need !

Lots of opinions with nothing really to back them up. Of course I knew Eduardo was now playing for Crotia but indeed he was born in Rio. And I still believe that to suddenly pluck a player out of the blue and treat him as an example and especially one who was the subject of that outrageous tackle by Martin Taylor last year and his injuries so bad they would not even show them on TV is quite absurd. Of course you then get idiots like Mark Lawrenson stating " But the argument that we pick on foreigners who dive has really got under my skin. Why was Eduardo singled out this week? Because he dived. Because he cheated. It’s as simple as that." when I am afraid it is not that simple Lawrenson and as an ex player you should know better. The whole business stinks to high heaven and as I said earlier I have no time for Wenger/Arsenal but that's not going to influence my view at all.

T'is a bit strange to be honest though Tahir only picked up his wickets late in the day and maybe Hants thought their seamers like Cork and Dimi could make a breakthrough. As it was Cork bowled 9 overs for 10 runs and Dimi 5 overs for 11 runs, both very economical. It was only the pacier Griffiths who conceded a few and that still only 24 off 6 overs. So it would seem that the slower the bowling the greater the threat to Somerset. Spin will be to the forefront tomorrow I suspect unless there is something in the pitch for the medium pacers.

I never agree with Wenger, he really is worse than Benitez in the moaning stakes. However, in this case UEFA have got it hopelessly wrong ( no surprise in that though) I've seen the incident many times on TV but my brother was very close to the incident and the feeling was Eduardo may have been touched by Boruc but be that as it may he was quite within his rights to go over as otherwise he may well have been injured AGAIN. So I think it's a disgrace for players to dive but even worse to single out one player, there is no logic to it and to be honest Brazilian players don't exactly have a reputation for diving. As I said I never agree with Wenger, I dislike Arsenal too but that doesn't mean I want to see a player treated unfairly either.

Me as well and I think Laker should get the nod over Underwood fine bowler though he was.

Well that must be Pietersen and Botham, cannot believe you have not heard of the likes of Trueman, Larwood, Hobbs etc; They are the sort of players that you just cannot help reading about. Larwood for example was involved in the infamous "bodyline" Ashes Test Series of 1932/33.
