  1. Ok, we didn't blatantly fix the result!
  2. Well for once your amazing literary skills let you down as it clearly wasn't clear.
  3. Sorry, I edited it as it was too easy ! But I don't think that was correct anyway, not that I can recall ?
  4. Well done, that is correct. Man U and Arsenal have both put 6 past us but I can't remember 7 or more.
  5. Ok, a fairly easy one. Who were the last 3 teams to score 7 or more against Saints in a league match?
  6. Hurray ! Question as soon as I can think of a good one!
  7. I might have agreed but to be honest even though England didn't qualify in 1974, 1978 or 1994 I still found it exciting. Had the Irish to support in 1994!
  8. 1988/89 ? West Ham, QPR and Luton.
  9. Gee thanks, must have been in the last 20 years or so then ?
  10. If true that would be totally remarkable !! Now just blooming well hurry up and tell me if I'm right
  11. You mean he actually won and we didn't even have to "fix" the result ! Amazingly good but it was easily the best goal anyway.
  12. Blimey, a long time ago I guess ! 1957/58 Walsall, Millwall and Gillingham ?
  13. Don't think I can recall what you would call a "lump in the throat" moment. Sheer joy of course when Bobby Stokes scored at Wembley, Armstrong scoring a last minute winner v Man Utd, MLT's last goal etc; etc; On the negative side was sad when we got relegated in 1974 but always felt we'd be back, then of course relegation in 2005 though that was coming for quite a while, so many great Saints dying and so on.
  14. I think it was in about 1980......playing in the tyro Sunday League !
  15. Sounds right. 3 flipping days at Bournemouth watching the rain fall, all we needed was a couple of batting or bowling points.
  16. Good practice for the 20/20
  17. They did, this season and reduced the points for a draw though years ago you got nothing for a draw which (in)famously robbed Hants of the CC in 1974 when their final game was rained off totally and they got no points. Worcs meanwhile ( who Hants had thrashed a few weeks earlier) managed to play and win and pipped us by a few points.
  18. I'll never forget Big John playing for England "B" team and scoring TWO goals !! Unfortunately they were both in his own net
  19. So in the end it's not going to make a scrap of difference that we should have batted first or whether we should have declared 9 down or not! Early finish looms.
  20. Yes, sorry was just reading the post about Kanchelskis and not the original question ! In that case it was Hajto
  21. Kanchelskis was before Hajto wasn't he ? Kevin Phillips also worn the no 7 shirt.
  22. Time for one now methinks, Appy has left us in limbo but anyone who is sure they got his question right should post next if you're still thinking !
  23. Blimey, I didn't even have time to read the question !
