It is probably evident from my comments that I agree with you, as to date have the England selectors from U15-U18, I hope he gets a decent opportunity. I don't however see him ultimately as playing wide.
-
So cool, he doesn't feature in any line up you are suggesting though, so presumably you don't rate him?
-
Interesting take...... So far from being happy that Saints may have a player who is good enough to play WC football for T&T you are more worried that we may have to play without him, despite the fact no one on the "what team Saturday" thread wanted to include him?
-
Jake Thompson is better than most of those.
-
Skates would probably have been running stories that a deal was about to go through only then to pull out at the last minute.......bit like Lynam and Le Tissier really..... One may just have been an innocent victim out of his depth in corporate lingo bingo, which one that was I think is open to debate.

Factual evidence? Convenient scapegoat?

You seriously believe any serious financier is going to spend time reading a minority fans forum, which is what this is, and be affected by it's messages to the extent of changing a business plan, if they had one?
-
I would suggest it is more likely that the time has come to put up or shut up, no face saving has been achieved by Wacko or Lynam, so if it were that it backfired. If the swiss unit is Vega and Co his standard offer is £1 plus repaying creditors from future earnings and player sales......

We can only speculate about which asset and which charge is in which company, but if as I would presume SLH are the mortgagee, effectively Aviva would have presumably both a fixed charge on SMS and a floating charge on SLH, which would include Marchwood etc. I am not an expert in land valuation, but I would be surprised if the combined sales of the real estate were not worth a figure in the region of 8-10m.
-
Dillusional post of the year? Lower prices below break up value = break up, this is cash not sentiment. Aviva shareholders could start a class action against the administrator if a deal he concludes results in a figure below firesale. I have no idea nor does any one else in reality what the numbers are, but I would hazard a guess that no one is walking in without paying 10m to Aviva and then having to pay some creditors, so a 12-14m package. Anything less than that just isn't going to happen.

I remain of the opinion that Southampton FC will play in League One this year, with what players and what crowd, I don't even want to try to guess though. It will survive, but I have a feeling that those who thought Saints had reached the footballing nadir may have to make further adjustments. I think the target would be to still be in League One in Summer 2010.

Pinnacle are one/two man band local property dealer set up. If they have contributed significantly to the fees to date and it does not go through there would not be any moving on. Pinnacle would I think be in fairly serious poo. We are not talking about a conglomerate considering a deal with a corporate budget. I do wonder if the apparent lingering demise of their bid is not desperation borne out of the man who put his house on red and the ball appears to be about to drop into black, and who is trying to defer the inevitable.

Last week or was it the week before he told us there was only one person, having previously been a larger number. How many is it next week?
-
Man U/Glazier copy situation? Borrow cash take over the club, leverage club assets (SMS) to then secure loans to pay back the personal loans, and believe you can trade the club at a non deficit........thereby not actually having to put money in personally? There is a nasty smell.........
-
as a non lay person I find it incredibly wishful thinking to argue that a company which has no source of income, and has failed to pay it's wages for two consecutive months on time is trading solvently. Pinnacle and Swansea City FC paid cash to SLH last month I understand. (Administration bank account), that cash was used to pay the wages of SFC staff. Is it not slightly bizarre that a forum which proportionately heavily disliked even despised Lowe, and who regarded him as self serving and largely incompetent are now clinging to the hope that his "cunning plan" was in fact "cunning"? Stockport will need a CVA.
-
Well no actually, as if SFC were solvent, the wages would have been paid promptly both last month and this and there would be a stadium to play in next season regardless of what happened to SLH. The only reason I can see SFC is not in administration is that the administrator thinks the cost of that action is not justifiable, given that the club is not really trading. The other point I struggle with is the appeal point to the first deduction. There is a right of appeal to the deduction, the rules however require the appeal to be lodged within 7 days, it wasn't. As for subsequent potential deductions, asking for an amnesty before entering the "gentlemen's club" (aka FL) strikes me as a bit like asking the magistrates for a year's grace to do what you like. If the club emerge under new management, and that management conduct themselves properly, the FL would surely have no reason to make any further deduction. That might however perhaps require SFC to accept "football" elements of SLH's indebtedness and to repay them in full. If SFC is not prepared to do so it would clearly be seeking to hide behind the (ultimate) liquidation of SLH to reduce it's indebtedness and gain an advantage. But let's all blame the FL.......
-
Ok, so SFC fight the battle, lose (90+% odds to everyone outside of SO postcodes) and as a consequence are expelled from the League or deducted another 15 points and then have to rebuild from L2 (perhaps at best?) Worth it? 100% right to fight as you suggest? Interesting theory, but again emotions perhaps running away with things?
-
I can see and sympathise with the emotion but still struggle with the factual grasp on reality. If SLH was nuked could SFC have paid the wages last month or this: A. No If SLH are nuked would SFC have a ground: A. No Did SFC, who were not in administration, appeal within 7 days of the league decision A. No Do the League rules permit appeals? A. Yes Do the league rules have terms? A. Yes they must be lodged within 7 days. Ergo: If SLH was nuked could SFC play this season - A. No The semantics are fine and dandy, but who is kidding who? I think a lot of effort is being wasted on causes which are simply not ultimately winnable especially in a members club. In the meantime pay day approaches again. It is hard not perhaps to ponder that the funding available from the Pinnacle backer, however wealthy he or she may be, perhaps is only at a level which means promotion year one is a pre requisite as there is no offer of sustaining L1 football, and the club will struggle to survive in L1 longer term. That would in fact fit with a non football fan act of generosity. I wonder if any of the Pinnacle Group can confirm that promotion in the first year while excellent for the the club is not actually a necessity, and that the plan is indeed a long term strategy which would not be impacted by a second year in the long grass?
-
SFC can only surive if SLH manage an accommodation with their mortgagor to both write down and assign the debt. Tell me how that is not inextricably linked?
-
They are not particularly separate legal entities they are company and parent company, the company was unable to meet it's financial obligations once the parent company went into administration , until such times as the parent company recieved funding to pay the company wages, the wages weren't paid. If there was a nail hammered in the lid that was it. Partisan emotions aside, I am stunned that anyone thinks that SFC is not bust until taken over. Could SFC take over the payments in full to Aviva? Of course not, they couldn't pay the wages and are now within a week of being there again. -10 points or a football club....... it would appear that some think the former battle more important.
-
Wages for June due next week - where does the money come from for them? If for a second month running the club cannot pay it's employees on the due date, they can instantly save the cost of an appeal, and things could get much uglier. Sorry but I struggle to follow the logic of those who think in some way the 'cunning plan' that SLH and SFC are disparate entities is in any way sustainable. It seems that many anti Lowe people are now clinging hold of his ill conceived attempt at a liferaft.
-
The upshot surely to date is that it is hoped that at some point in the next three weeks, Pinnacle will make an acceptable offer to the Administrator for the assets of SLH..... They have exclusivity to finalise their offer. Given the inability of the club to pay it's employees this week, I would personally suggest heads stay below parapets for a while longer yet.
