I think Barnard could be one of our best (relatively speaking) signings in recent times. But I believe we play more interesting, more dynamic and smarter football with Guly. In addition, Guly is bloody rapid, which adds a whole other dimension to our game. I think that the style of football that Adkins is getting us to play will make Barnard more effective as a sub as I think the strategy is to get us controlling games, saving energy and wearing other teams out. Then we can stick Barnard and Forte (or similar) on and tear teams apart if we need to. Sadly it seems like there are a significant amount at St Mary's who aren't satisfied unless we're going hell for leather at the opposition goal all of the time.

Great night for us. But it makes last Tuesday even more annoying!

I don't want to think of the abuse... With all the stats this season, maybe NickG has a strong case for ref? Or fourth official with the board..?

Article on the league one automatic promotion race

Probably due to the inappropriate use of the word 'their' by beardy. Unless saintsmike25 isn't a Southampton fan... -
I knew someone would be along to help

Exactly this. Sorry to hear your sad news, spyinthesky. Enjoy remembering the good times.

Fear the not so secret society of scotsmen, who all... know each other... If only there was a facepalm icon.

Nothing against you or Phil but I'd like to see Ottery and Window Cleaner as managers.

Because Solent seemed obsessed with recalling Puncheon last night...

Echofon is a Twitter client, like Tweetdeck. -
Hammond's a funny one. Came in and was great, tailed off, got injured, came back against scum and was great, tailed off again, got injured and for most of this year has been getting better and better. I think he and Morgan could become an excellent midfield pairing but don't think that anyone has worked out how to make them really click yet.

How often does Gerrard get booked for diving in front of the kop?
-
No, but it would be our promotion chances ****ed

He's just crabby because arsenal spunked their chances in four competitions in the last week or so.

I think the style of football that Napkins is getting us to play would really benefit from a midfielder who can pass the ball to a team mate.

People say we were unconvincing in the first half but we never looked in any trouble. It looks like Adkins is thinking about the fixture list and trying to get us to win games with the least amount of effort.

It was hard to hear the words 'Markus Liebherr' from where I was sat.

It's being sung better now. I mean the way it's being sung. I remember a group in block 2 used to try an get it going when Burley was in charge and it sounded awful, literally like someone was putting their finger on a vinyl record to slow it down. When it picked up around the ground (and there were lots not singing) it started to sound really good,

I think it works really well - the players really stand out when watching games on dreary winter afternoons.

Made a right balls up of it today though. They've clearly been doing a lot of work on the set plays, which has been rewarded with goals. They seem quite creative as well, which (for me) adds another level of interest.

The slow owts is spreading; at one point it was picked up by pockets all around the ground. The Chapel are getting more vocal too (when they're not *****ing about the ball being passed across the defence).

Think I might have been at that one. Those reserve games at the dell were great. I remember Ramon Vega turning out for spuds when we had a really young team out. He looked like someone's dad making up the numbers...

Spooky, I'd just stumbled across this

Didn't Kachloul just turn up with his bags because a mate of Dave Jones' recommended him?
