  1. Even by your own wildly distorted views Scooby I doubt even the most ardent of Lowe supporters will buy-in to this classic statement.
  2. I don't disagree with anything you've said there. However, do you not have even the slightest suspicion that we are 'leaked' information that the same senior players whose hearts aren't in it and don't want to be here just happen to he the higher wager earners in the club? Quite a coincidence.
  3. Not suggesting it wasn't however you were stating Saga ran around alot and basically didn't achieve a great deal. This is BWPs forte is it not, so my point is not redundant. Thanks for reminding of the thrust of this thread, it was actually started to highlight he had gone on loan. No more, no less, but thanks. If we can replace Saga (if required) with a similar standard of player at lower cost then fantastic, if we can't and find ourselves relying on DMG or BWP and it doesn't happen for them then it's a false economy.
  4. I'm sure everyone in the football world knows of our financial state and that pretty much any reasonable offer will be accepted so I doubt making this public will have too much of an impact on their market value. Like many things in life at the moment it is a buyers market.
  5. I take it you're referring to BWP. Maybe it is you with blinkers.
  6. Saints Web may be a new board but the same posters chanting out the same rhetoric. Cutting costs is very very easy. Cutting costs whilst maintaining similar or superior performance is not.
  7. I don't always see eye to eye with Alpine but on this one I do. And why the attitude with the post? Saga is / was a 'bit part' player due to mismanagement by Burley during the course of last year however he really seems the best option we have to fit in with the new formation. As with many, I have massive doubts of DMG being our number one striker and a few pre-season goals won't change that opinion. Saga's amount of clubs is worrying there is no doubt but I still see him as the best option. The whole scenario, as confirmed by JP, doesn't have a lot to do with ability but solely costs (wages). If you believe anything else you are in cloud cuckoo land. If we can get the equivalent for less then absolutely that is sound business sense. However if it results in a team that is unable to maintain it's CCC status then it is quite clearly not.
  8. Faint.....and if DMG gets a hatrick I'll be looking for a hat and some salt and pepper.
  9. Thanks for posting David and good luck with your goal scoring attempts for us this year. I tried reading your previous post but with so many asterix's it was a little difficult. I agree entirely regarding Lallana and I believe he could become quite a player in the future. If, as you said, and I tend to agree, we need a certain type of player to fit in with the new style and formation then for me it has to be Saga up front. He's shown what he can do but suffered at the mismanagement of Burley last year.
  10. Hopefully in time we will see numbers back to something like it was on TSF however for the moment it is pretty disappointing in terms of user levels...
  11. I'm looking forward to 12 o'clock. As for the rest...each to their own but who was at the helm when the 7 million was so 'wisely' spent by Burley...
  12. Did you think about what you were going to type before making this post? Obviously not. So Rasiak didn't score a hatful when he played during 06/07 and John didn't score 20+ in 07/08. Of course we could rely on the goal machine that is DMG.
  13. Would you like to tell us where this occurred..Port Vale perhaps?
