2005 - Actually the game against Pompey was by far the worst moment, utterly embarassing and shameful. I was convinced after that match that relegation was inevitable, and it almost came as a relief when it arrived.

I'm furiously envious!

Anyone going to the Ejector Seat Arts Festival in a couple of weeks? It was dead good last year.

Karma, then...

That and James & the Giant Peach...

Crime and Punishment. Fate really tears an angry strip off Raskolnikov, and he deserves it.
-
Too right. Get a go on his stuff with Christian Fennesz, if you can. Cendre is a good place to start.

My local club was South Wonston Swifts, who I played a few games for as a lad. I'm ashamed to say I no longer follow their results.

Exactly! Nobody has said anything about stadium expansion, so it's pointless speculating about it.
-
This. I was forced to listen to it on Solent due to stupid pesky work, but on there during the game the line was "we hope the fans respect the club's wishes and don't invade the pitch". But as soon as the whistle went and the fans had run on, they were saying "how great it is to see".

How can they know this if people's other preferences were not requested, as per AV?
-
No, it's official. They had one of them Channel 4 countdowns.

You never saw him rejoicing. That's one of the things I admire him for.

Grouper - Cover the Windows and the Walls the stain is late to the party again. Great record though.

Badman Sea Lion? Me Abandon Sail? Lesbian Nomad?

Yeah, just logged on to apologise for not checking that out before. I stand by the sentiment though, regardless of who said it.

That's why the Gubmint had him shot.

I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that. --Martin Luther King, Jr

Turkish, you said it in post 28, after only two prompts. I apologise.

Should you put a disclaimer on? Clearly not. Should you explain at the bottom of each post? Again, no. Would it be sensible to briefly explain what your avatar is, in a post of say 7 words ("it's a character from League of Gentlemen"), when it's obvious that a misunderstanding has occured that is completely skewing the thread of discussion, particularly considering that you are one of the most prominent participants in the discussion? Yes, that would be sensible and would take seconds. Is there any possible reason why you wouldn't want to clear the issue up, it being quite an understandable mistake for anyone who hasn't seen the League of Gentlemen to make? Yes, you wanted to be controversial and win your own straw man argument. On a thread about people jumping to conclusions based on partial evidence, you've managed to portray yourself as a victim by deliberately withholding the crucial piece of evidence. Brilliantly done.
