Actually, the FL advised me that they did not have any advances on the PPs, even when they were in the Prem. At the time I think it was some creative accounting by the barred Israeli that saw them through. With what we know now about the long-standing football debt, they probably didn't pay the players, e.g Kanu.

The Dell Bar - is it worth joining next season?
Pugwash replied to SaintRobbie's topic in The Saints
Is that "No, there's not a big queue at the bar"; or, "No, it's not worth joining"? -
We won't get there anyway. They'll be docking 'courtesy' points for the "Andy Carroll looks like a horse" chant.

I'm going for February or March. Just after the final PP.

Now there are Ricin letters being sent: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-22190031

I was there a week after 9/11. Not a lot going on, but then everything was locked down pretty tight.

So next season in the Meridian/BBC South TV area covered by local news, it seems the skates will be vying for last place in the match report order. In order of precedence: Saints Reading Brighton Bournemouth MK Dons Crawley Gillingham Wycombe Portsmouth Sadly, it looks like Aldershot will be relegated to the Conference.

4. In skate philosophy, one of the means of reaching Bradford.

What offers?? None of them are signed up to long contracts. There's a few (Connolly for one) who won't be hanging around come June.

I assume the plucky 6700 haven't hung around for the results. ..

Guy's certainly taken them to another level.

Strange that 'the riddle' claims to be on the PST board but only talks about 'rumours' of the £350k repayments to Chanrai and his 'speculation' on debts. He is in a position to KNOW, yet can't give a definitive answer. Smacks of incompetence and not someone I'd want running a football club. Either that or the financial decisions are being made without the PDT's knowledge.
-
Clearly this doesn't allow for all those 'add-ons' to Chanrai. Some frantic negotiations going on behind the scenes, methinks.

"There has been many times when my firm, and the exemplary work Trevor Birch has done, where we felt the club were very close to going out of business." "Had it not of been for the last-minute agreement then it probably would have done." This from the Administrator. That says to me that they thought they would lose the court case.

The "little things in life that really annoy you" thread
Pugwash replied to JackFrost's topic in The Lounge
People who, on entry to a hospital/public building/shopping centre, stand around blocking the aisle/corridor looking totally lost and don't look at the direction signs in front of them. Thornhill roundabout. The same thing as Pap said. Phlegm. Ivana Trump. Blue food colouring - no one should eat blue food. Lazy journalists. Holes in pockets. Pigeons sh@gging on the fence and crapping on my patio. -
Ramiez, time to settle or not good enough?
Pugwash replied to southamptonfclegend's topic in The Saints
It's the expectations that's the problem. £12m is a huge sum to pay in the context of what Saints have afforded in the past. Hence we all expect him to be our star player. If it was one of the big four who had bought him, as a 23-year old who's new to the country, he'd be on the bench learning the ropes for half a season. Instead the pressure has been there to play him and he's suffering. Unfortunately, with performances like yesterday's the team is not the best it can be, so there's a case for using him as an impact player from the bench for the last three games. Then he can get a decent pre-season behind him and come back refreshed. -
What's with the 'crossed pitchfork and rocket' crest?
-
Dirtiest team we've played this season - and that includes QPR. Any other ref than Dean would've sent at least three of their players off.
-
Read this quoted in another post below and thought you were talking about Ramirez, who really was the weak link in the team today. His goal was his only meaningful contribution. Looked so much better with Rodriguez on the pitch. Didn't think it was a free kick, but I was some distance away. Boruc was positioned fine, it just took a heavydeflection. Standouts for me were Clyne (MoM), cork and Davis.

IIRC they never actually made the application in time, which was well before they were even in the final. The half-hearted 'appeal' was a sop to keep their fans onside...

Welbeck is a good player, but not enough about him to be a great player, or "the future of England". Right now he fits the system, that's all. Yet to see him have a great game.
