  1. Yes we get caught out occasionally, but our real problem is the lack of cutting edge. People moan about us passing it across the back four in the 89th minute. But when Morgan does the fetch and carry and looks up to see a static front five, what option has he got? There's just no real movement up front to create space and opportunities for openings. The only one today with any real attacking intent was Rodriguez. He probably had more shots on goal than the rest of the team put together and the goal was his making.
  2. Predicted this to my daughter this morning. Inept performance devoid of ideas. Too slow in the build up. Only positives were Fonte and Jrod. Morgan poor and SRL had one of his worst games in a Saints shirt. Beaten by a team of bruisers who had two shots on goal. We'll need more than just a pressing game to stay up.
  3. Getting a 'page unavailable' message. Could #factlessallen be getting his facts wrong again and covering his tracks?
  4. Surely Mr Hall's best defence is to declare himself bankrupt, so he doesn't have to pay anything. That is the pompey way, after all.
  5. Brilliant!!
  6. That's precisely why they want to defer payments to the players; and the reason that the PFA queried the rejection of Harris' bid that purported to settle up front.
  7. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvkckmOmyAo Well... it was going that way.
  8. And they've been working another two months since then, with probably another two months to go. Maybe they're working for free from now on?
  9. But under (1), the club survives and gets the Golden Share. The PPs will probably be diverted to football creditors (like the first year's payments) if this happens. Either way, don't think they'll see the money.
  10. Two flaws in that argument: 1) The best deal that PKF could strike for the creditors would be to negotiate a separate sale of the ground for the higher price, with a covenant to rent it to PFC2013 for five years at a reasonable rent. They could then sell the 'club' to the Trust for a nominal amount, meaning they wouldn't need the council loan. The Trust then get the Golden Share and everyone's a winner. 2) They won't be seeing the parachute payments anyway. They're going to the football creditors.

  12. It's included in the biggest TV pack (XL) without the premium channels (SS1, SS2, SS3, etc)
  13. I might go watch them next season. After all, being a Saints supporter, I've never been to a division 4 game...
  14. I'm in Hedge End as well. Really solid performance on broadband, phone and TV. Not as much HD as Sky and can't get Sky Atlantic, but the On Demand service is much better. Some of the overseas customer service can be bad, but when I've dealt with the Scottish call centre it's been fine. Oh, and ESPN is included.
  15. Three years on and the headlines are the same: £60m in debt and rooted to the bottom of the table.

  17. Actually Mr Farmery, I think the term is "Transparency".
  18. Hear what you're saying SG, I didn't express it very well. I think he has skill to be a top player, but is probably lacking a bit of desire? At Southend he's learning to really 'want' to win and a trip to Wembley could well spark him into life. Playing reserve/academy football can be a bit sterile, after all.
  19. The skates all await a new dawn Their buy-out plans drawn and re-drawn But Chin’s got a plan To extract what he can While the Nutjobs are all eating popcorn
  20. Absolutely right, Colin. I think the spell in L2 will certainly aid his physical development and 'toughen him up', so to speak.
  21. So it appears that they never paid a single instalment for Eric the Viking either; and he's probably owed some wages by the sound of it: "Erik Huseklepp would not comment on whether he has money outstanding in Portsmouth still. This is because he has signed a confidentiality agreement with Portsmouth. - This I simply can not talk about, say Huseklepp." How long before the fans turn on him as well?
  22. Quick update. Now using Handbrake to encode the MKV rips, getting files about one-quarter the size without any noticeable degradation in quality. The secret seems to have been to use a 64-bit computer with the 64-bit version of the program. A lot quicker.
  23. RIP. Fortunate enough to have seen him on the stage - immense. Best thing he did was Ever Decreasing Circles.
  24. Yeah. Debt. That's secured against ASSETS. You know what they are. No? Can some kind 'Twitterer' please enlighten the benighted ***...
