  1. See now under any other circumstances I would take that as a face-value post by one of the deluded Bestest ™ Few. But the fact that Trousers has quoted it makes me think that it might just be a wind-up...
  2. Apart from the Football League, Wembley Stadium and 33 football clubs, I thought this one was particularly ironic: "Shaping the future of Portsmouth"
  3. Apart from your opinion on Villa, you've pretty much agreed with everything he's said. So why get all 'Daily Mail' about it?
  4. Of course it only needs ONE of the HNWs getting cold feet to instigate the kind of cost cutting we're seeing now. I can't see the rest of them increasing their exposure now if one individual wants to pull out. The whole thing's a house of cards.
  5. Seem to remember this was a story doing the rounds about a year ago. Someone's resurrected it as a wind up.
  6. The simple fact is that most away fans these days are considered passionate and loud and sing a lot. It's because they're more often the most dedicated fans of the club in question. Chelsea are no different. A year ago I was fortunate enough to do corporate at Stamford Bridge, watching the skates get spanked. Atmosphere was dead in Chelsea's home end, the worst I've witnessed. You might assume from the comment above that the skates fans made bit of noise. They didn't. They were crap and only had one song.
  7. Exactly. Well, almost. The PTS is probably funnier, the whole saga is set in a far seedier district and there'll be no millionaires at the end of it.
  8. Used Gillette sensitive for years - Gels only, the foams are rubbish. Then discovered Elemis. Expensive, but use very little so it lasts a long time, and really good. Get it at John Lewis in the women's section. Nice after-shave as well.
  9. Prefer to give them Portsea Island (with the population).
  10. Can I just add: No training ground. No grip on reality. No effin' chance.
  11. Walking alongside a guy going through West Quay yesterday afternoon. He's obviously panicking, rushing through, sweat on the brow, frantic 'hunted' look in his eyes. His mobile rings, so he answers: "Yeah"................"Yeah"............."Well I'm on the train, just coming into Salisbury"............"Bit noisy here"...................."Music? errr".........(covers phone mouthpiece with hand and crouches on the floor). SO busted!!
  12. He might if Armani did Santa suits...
  13. I thought 'Arry told the court that he didn't get involved in wage negotiations and that he didn't know how much his players were earning at Spuds?
  14. Worth listening to their albums - so much better than the commercial 'pop' stuff they're best known for.
  15. Haven't you seen the 2013 PFC calendar?
  16. When the book of this thread is published, that line really should be a caption for a photo.
  17. To paraphrase dear old Spike, I believe a fitting bookend epitaph to this thread would be: "I told you they were insolvent"
  18. Nope. The past 7000 years of humanity has all been a dream inside the dream of an 18 year old cat owned by a guy called Schrodinger. The cat's going to be put down in about 7 or 8 minutes (or on Friday, our time). I know... I got me one of these:
  19. I believe it was Pardew who persuaded Adam to stay. Told him that by staying he had the chance to win things that he could look back on in the future, and he was right. Okay, it's not the FA cup or the Premier League title, but not many professional footballers get to have back-to-back promotions and a visit to Wembley on their CVs. A couple of seasons learning their trade in the lower leagues has made them better, more adaptable and tougher footballers than if they had moved three or four years ago.
  20. To be fair he is the real deal and assuming we stay up, will develop into a top player. Ought to be on the fringes of the France squad.
  21. Quoi?
  22. The Puncheon Redemption is becoming almost Beckham-esque. So good to see how he's turned things around.
  23. Shaw for me. Punch did equally as well, but Luke dealt with tougher opposition in Roberts and Le Fondre. Honourable mentions for Cork and Rodriguez. Lambert unsung hero, but thought Morgan was uncharacteristically off his game today.
  24. Agree the ref was shocking, he gave Reading every chance to equalize but they just weren't good enough. Their players were holding, pushing and pulling the whole game without being punished and Roberts should be doing three months' for ABH for some of his work. Shaw was outstanding as was Puncheon. Rodriguez looked really sharp and Cork once again ran the midfield.
