Player exodus? I think quite the opposite. Without Nicola we are more attractive to top players whose agents had not been able to deal with Nicola. He was not from a football background and tried to do things his way. I respect that, but its cost us a small fortune in wages, fees and ott transfer fees. He was obsessed with agent fees and this clouded his judgement - he was opting for 3rd and 4th choice players as there agent wanted a smaller fee.......

Cortese should move on now. He's taken us as far as he can imho KL is the billionaire and its money, not a suit that will take us to the next level One of my clients once described Nicola as a monoploy player that started with £15,000 while all other player had the regular £1,500

I simply think KL got tired of Nicola stealing all the credit. He played down the importance of the manager and seems to have grown to god like status in some fans minds. However all along he has just been spending KL's money at will and "resisting" player sales because she put no pressure to sell. Ultimately everything good that has happened has happened because of Markus and more recently KL. Essentially we have cut out the middle man (thats all he was imho) now KL can make decisions herself without the ego and hissy fits of Nicola clouding. KL might surprise us with a cheeky transfer this window... You never know

I wont make any knee jerk reactions to todays news. Infact i wont judge Nicolas tenure for another 6-8 months. At that stage i will know if Cortese built a solid house of bricks, or a flimsy house of cards.

When i hire staff, particularly management i look for 5 things. Respect, integrity, service, excellence and above all stewardship. Stewardship: Leave a job in a better position than you found it!!! Nicola has got us up the leagues, but if the press are to be believed.... Hes done it on very soft foundations. If mopo and players now leave youve got to question nicolas unhealthy hold on them all

Said this earlier.... Everyone praises Cortese for building strong foundations, but he leaves and these strong foundations are just a house of cards.

Spend a load of money and the club will look and do well. Its no coincidence that the best clubs spend the most money. The money is the reason for our success, not Nicola. KL would be a much bigger loss than Nicola
