  1. Not wishing to lower the tone of the conversations here but sometimes I feel like the person behind me is a little to close and sometimes I feel like I must smell or something as they are 3m behind me. So what is the acceptable distance? I'm going for about 1m as anymore and I feel like I have BO or something.
  2. Ask us all again in two games time. Win the next two home games, especially the Cardiff game, and the gap to third will be back to 7 points. Slip up and it won't look anywhere near as healthy.
  3. I'm am so up for that. Genuinelly
  4. With all the transfer speculation at the moment, what was the signing that we all thought was crazy at the time that worked out best. In recent times, Peter Crouch for me. Turned out to be a far better player than he was ever given credit for. Discuss
  5. Now which one is when since when ever I hear it, it's always an amalgamation of the two.
  6. I joked to my Celtic supporting work colleague that Saints were after another Celtic player. 'You can't have Hooper, he is the only decent player that we have got'. Can't see Saints paying £6million though. Think we will be looking elsewhere.
  7. Mine. Madness.
  8. For once I find myself agreeing with Alpine. I don't normally. Not sure whether a minutes silence at SMS is appropriate, but I share the sentiment. I find the media obsession with the Titanic to be in really bad taste. Southampton had a population of around 130,000 in 1912. The city was devastated, especially in the areas in the bottom of town where many of the 550 lived. We are going to get no end of anniversary hype from the media this year, which will all ignore the human misery that the sinking caused. And no, we dont need a Titanic museum, just the memorial. Rant over.
  9. the isle of wight?
  10. Such a sad story. RIP mate
  11. Was thinking, even if we don't go up, gate attendences need to be fairer than they are now. Moreover, first come first served isn't always the best option. I definately agree that ST should get priority over all games but after that they are realeased on 'general sale'. Surely someone who goes to say 10 games a season who can't buy a ST should have priority over someone who has been to 1. Your thoughts?
  12. Apoligies if posted elsewhere but I've just found out that for the first 15 minutes of the game, they are boycotting the ground in protest against the owner's. Is it me or does there seem to be a cycle of clubs doing this. Anyway, all in the past now.
  13. Completely agree. I also think that NA was waiting to see which players could make the step up to Championship level, and which couldn't. It is now very apparent that the squad is a bit thin - we need a striker, CB cover and a keeper. I also think that we have had a bit of a reality check after the stunning football of the Autumn. Teams have worked us out, pack the midfield even when at home, chase, and close down the full backs.
  14. I think it would be nice if something was done as a memorial to them if they do retire at the end of the year (which is confirmed on Radhi's part). I don't know about you but they've been pretty solid throughout their time here and it would be a shame to say goodbye to them without doing something. Any ideas?
  15. Anyone...
  16. Really frustrating. Lost the midfield and too many long balls. Ref gave Lambert nothing all evening. Bristol City came to frustrate us and succeeded.
  17. Anyone know. It's been lashing it down all day
  18. I can see a couple of signings in January, goalkeeper and striker - none of the obvious candidates, just like Jos Hooiveld in the summer. Then a few weeks later we all realise that they were good buys. It's a killer for all the paper speculation as no-one knows anything before the deals are signed.
  19. I can't remember if it was actually a good game or not. I was too busy on the chanting
  20. Being able to go to SMS and expecting to see a win - and the football is the most enjoyable since the early eighties
  21. Barnard again?
  22. I think that it is simply that Refs favour defenders when there is any hint of an infringement. Both Lambert and Guly had fouls given against them that left them scratching their heads wondering what on earth they had done wrong.
  23. Was it me, or was this afternoon's half time relay race the funniest half-time entertainment in ages? One kid dropped the ball before the race had even started, another started running before the ball had reached him and had to stop and wait for a very puffed out kid to give him the ball. Then the last two ran towards the Northam End goal and both sliced their shots wide. Even the motormouth on the pitch was speechless for a change. Not quite up with the day that the copper ran after the 'burglar' on the pitch during the police dog display, or the day that the parachutist missed the Dell and ended up in Shirley High Street, but it gave all those round me in the Chapel a good laugh (loudest we've been in ages).

I had heard about it on Outnumbered and wondered what it was. Since it was Christmas and my Dad was in a good mood I decided to ask him and, too my supprise, he found his in the loft (which he last used 19 years ago). After an interesting game I lost 6 - 0 playing as Arsenal vs Southampton. I know this isn't strictly saints related but it's Christmas. Was wondering whether anyone else has played it and whether they had good memories of it as a child.
