Exactly the same with me. I used to get trolleyed every Friday & Saturday night & still get up & play footy the following day. Since my son was born (14.5 years ago), I've only been ****ed twice, both times I consumed about as much as I did in my prime & bloody hell I suffered, staying in bed or on the sofa for all the following day, footy was definitately out of the question.

In your reply to Suewhistle you’ve described me, and possibly others who have made the same suggestion (I don’t know if others have as I haven’t read the whole thread) as a “plank”. All I’ve done is suggest this as an option, but thanks for the insult anyway. I’ve not said it’s the only, or even an “easy” option, I’m perfectly well aware that getting a credit card is not viable for some (may be “many”, I don’t have the exact figures).

Um.. I don't have maxed out card & I'm still credit worthy. I'm sorry if my pragmatism (and presumably my credit rating) has upset you. I was just highlighting one way around the possible lack of an installment plan. Maybe I should have kept it to myself.

I spoke to the TO yesterday about opening hours, whilst I was on the phone I asked when ST details would be released & was told it would be the end of the month. I suspect it will be a similar arrangement to last year, so I've made arrangements for a 0% credit card. It may be something worth considering for those that don't have the cash hidden away under the matress.

Excellent news and thoroughly deserved, more often than not (with a few exceptions) he has been immense this season. Hopefully he & Fonte can carry on where they left off.

I have been "first on scene" a few times twice by coincidence the others by design (although not technically first as I was called as part of an emergency response team). I've been trained in first aid since a young age, through the Red Cross, Youth Organisations & at work. The first occaasion was when a player from our team had a heart attack in a pre-season friendly, myself & another chap gave CPR until the ambulance arrived, sadly he died, the second was (again football related) a player in our 5-a-side team was punched, then kicked in the head as he fell, he was unconscious & bleeding heavily, I dealt with him again until the ambulance crew got there. His attacker got put away for 3 months. I have been trained as a Hamphire Ambulance (as it was then) First Responder, this is a voluntary position, usually in rural locations. When a member of the public calls 999 & requests an ambulance, a First Responder is also paged, and immediately responds, usually arriving long before an ambulance, we are trained to use de-fibulators & oxygen, as well as the usual first aid techniques. I used to work out in the sticks & have been called to several incidences ranging from a child with an injured foot at a school to an old feller in the throes of a heart attack, he survived. I also went to a case where a decorator had fallen off a ladder, & broke his leg, someone had called the local GP, and as soon as I arrived he took a back seat saying something like "I haven't done emergency first Aid for about 30 years, I'm sure you're better qualified than me", which I found out from the ambulance crew was rather unusual for a GP, they generally pull rank, even over experienced paramedics. I also called the fire brigade when the boiler room a my local school caught fire, I was probably about 11 years old then, that was quite exciting.

I take exception with Keith Cassells, if it wasn't for him we would never had Mark Wright playing for us.

The same as the one in town. It was good when it opened but has gone downhill badly. The portions have got smaller too.

I'll be fine then I'm 43. I hope they turn the music down at 9pm, that's when I like to drink my ovaltine before getting in my jim-jams ready for bed at 9.30.
