  1. Is this discount for the over 60's or over 65's?
  2. The stadium looks great, apart from the carpets in the Platinum Lounges. You don't want to be in there with a hangover.
  3. I don't know if Timmy would be up to it, hasn't he had a hip replacement or two?
  4. Jo Kent from South Today: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_khnBA58ed2k/S8Ba60ufGfI/AAAAAAAANXM/Vdv07c25vJM/s1600/PDVD_028.JPG Becky Mantin who does the ITV weather: http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/2664/0fo0lzw34cx3.jpg
  5. Denial - the first sign of addiction
  6. Unfortunately I can't hear what the guys saying as I've lost sound on my pc. I'm guessing he is taking the credit for creating AIDS (as per the title). My question is Dune, Do you believe everything people say? David Icke once said he was the son of God, do you worship at the alter of the turquoise one?
  7. I'm not sure a statue at the training ground is the best idea, as very few will get to see it. I'd like to see something at the stadium where it is more noticable. Personally I'd like to see a stand named after Markus.
  8. http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/...suffers-stroke Sad news, hope he make a fully recovery. Get well soon Big Man.
  9. If they had used the voice of the actor who originally played Darth Vader (David Prowse, the Green Cross man to those old enough), Vader would have spoken like Ian Holloawy.
  10. Whats racist about listing the names of sportsmen who were born abroad and took British Nationality to further their careers?
  11. Probably, making him as British as Gregg Rusedski, Lennox Lewis, Zola Budd, Tony Grieg etc.
  12. Hardly British, the bloke is a Greek born Dane. However despite my belief the the monachary should be retired, he can be quite funny at times, although not always intentionally.
  13. The same place as they go during the winter possibly? About 4-5 years ago a bunch of travellers landed in Riverside Park next to the infants school, they literally took over the play area for their kids, not allowing local kids to play there, sometimes physically. When they left the playground had to be closed while the council cleared the area of nappies, excrement, litter, gas bottles, they even dumped a car there FFS. I don't have an issue with them pitching up at the local park as such. I have an issue with the intimidation and the detritus they leave behind.
  14. IIRC he scored in a cup match as well.
  15. This may or may not be true, however, what is true is that he would have walked past it daily on his trips from his home to the Co-op in Bedford Place. FACT (I'm ITK for the only time ever)
  16. My mates Dad was a cabbie and was sent by the club to collect Frank Worthington who hadn't turned up for training. FW answered the door in a silk dressing gown with the obligatory dragon on the back. He left the house in said dressing gown & slippers, stopping only to pick up his kit & light a fag.
  17. The Wallaces used to live in Wakefield Rd.
  18. Steve Moran (it may have been Williams) lived in digs in Harcourt Rd, a mate & I went around on a Friday night and they were out.
  19. Used to know a girl who went out with Steve Williams, about 1978 ish. She got me a signed photo of all the squad, still got it.
  20. The paths I'm talking about are of a reasonable standard, I know because I'm a fairweather cyclist and during the summer will use them to cycle to work, they are shared with pedestrians, but there are very few, if any, pedestrians on them at 7.30 am. As I see it the the problem is 2 fold, the first is cyclist arrogance, determined to excercise their right to use the road, the second is patience, something the driver is often accused of not having. As you mentioned in your post, most cyclists don't want to have to give way to anything, including red lights as alluded to by the OP.
  21. I don't know why we bother with these things. Many cyclist don't use them. My journey to work takes me through Chilworth without fail there are cyclist on the road ignoring the bloody things. This morning there were four of the mongs cycling about 15m apart on the road, 2m to their left is a nice shiny, barely used cycle path they could have safely used.
  22. Dead right. Way back when I was keen & fit we had three weeks like that. Many of us played Saturdays, Sundays, Wednesday nights with the odd 5-a-side thrown in as well. We still managed that, played the re-arranged fixtures, went to work, got p issed, sh agged the gf & still had change from a tenner. Back on thread, me, the boys & 2 of the boys mates are going this afty.
  23. For me & my 2 sons it will cost about £24 per match, which I think is good value, probably cheaper than going to the cinema. Next season may be a different matter, as my youngest will be 11 by then (especially if we get promoted).
