I'm not sure a statue at the training ground is the best idea, as very few will get to see it. I'd like to see something at the stadium where it is more noticable. Personally I'd like to see a stand named after Markus.

About 4-5 years ago a bunch of travellers landed in Riverside Park next to the infants school, they literally took over the play area for their kids, not allowing local kids to play there, sometimes physically. When they left the playground had to be closed while the council cleared the area of nappies, excrement, litter, gas bottles, they even dumped a car there FFS. I don't have an issue with them pitching up at the local park as such. I have an issue with the intimidation and the detritus they leave behind.
