Yes absolutely. We have had major problems as long as I have supported Saints - since 1969. Our ability to beat strong teams but to get turned over time and again by really poor teams while constantly conceding late goals, and often two goals within minutes are all signs of a problem with psychology rather than capability.
-
And Two Princes. This trolling the opposition just makes us look small minded and rebounds when we inevitably lose
-
1974 - relegated with Norwich, 2005 - relegated with Norwich, 2009 - relegated with Norwich. I'm nervous.

Staggered that Ralph wasn't sacked yesterday. Wonder if the board are waiting for the result of the Leeds v Chelsea game tomorrow to decide if immediate action is needed?
-
But Ralph has not steered us clear of relegation, we remain in significant danger

It is very poorly designed in key aspects like the sloping of the seating area being far too shallow given that people are actually standing, so the sightlines are poor.

I just don't think Lawrie's approach works in modern football. Indeed, he couldn't make it work for Sunderland in 1985. Top quality players don't want to take what they see as a step down any more when they can stay at their club on huge wages and play a bit part role. Only when they are really past it like Cahill do they move on, while others just retire. In 1976, Alan Ball, captain of England only a year earlier and just 31, had to make the choice between Hull and Southampton in the second division. Would that happen now?

We will play the ball forward? Sounds better than I expect.

We wore white in that game

New kit should incorporate the white flag of surrender

I really can't see us taking another point this season. And we face the prospect of Liverpool hitting double figures. Does the club realise we can still go down?Since Villa away we have been terrible and that comes down to Ralph. Sometimes I wonder if he wants the sack? If he retires in a couple of years he walks away with no payoff. If he is fired now he gets a pile of cash. having said that I would sack him now and appoint a caretaker for the last three games - although obviously not Kelvin Davies.
-
In the 1990s the same applied to Bryan Robson's Middlesbrough
-
I wouldn't take Wan-Bissaka if United offered us cash to take him off their hands, he is a truly dreadful player
-
Would quite like Bilic, but probably an unlikely pairing with Serbian owners. The others, absolutely not.
-
As we have lost to Everton as well we can be sure that we have lost to the three relegated sides. Even when we were runners up in 83-84 we lost at home to Notts County
-
We have successfully completed our own treble of losing at least once to each of the three relegated teams. I wonder if any team is worse than Saints at losing to relegated teams? - we even managed to lose to Norwich under Koeman.
-
My guess is May 18 or evening Thursday 19. We will face the burden of stopping Liverpool from doing the Quadruple
-
That puts Ralph quite high up the list of longest serving PL managers - possibly 3rd after Klopp and Guardiola?
-
In 78-79 we played West Brom at home on Good Friday, Chelsea away on the Saturday and Spurs at home on Easter Monday (3-3 draw after being 3-0 up). I think that was the last time we played on three out of the four days over Easter.

I am preparing myself for the Arsenal game to be very similar. Only games I see us possibly not losing are Palace and Brentford.
-
That didn't stop him putting the ball in the net though. 24 goals in 65 games is not a bad return. I think his attitude suffered when Whiskey George decided it was a smart idea to drop our leading goal scorer in January 2007.
-
That was when we beat them in the relegation season and Crouch scored the other goal

Very disappointed by Broja today. He hardly won an aerial challenge. In the short time he was on the pitch Long won more in the air. The timing of the match was poor. We had a lot of stoppages in the second half, I had 8 to go but Mr Taylor added only 5. And then he stopped play when he hadn't even reached 4 extra minutes. Not that I minded as I was very happy with the point.

I am afraid it was Beattie and Phillips that scored in that 2-0 win over Liverpool. Prutton I think didn't score until the last game of the season away at Charlton
