  1. Also Fernandes should have been available because he should have been sent off on Monday for two yellow cards
  2. Does West Ham progressing in Europe now push our midweek game at Bournemouth to the Wednesday?
  3. How was the red card on Trippier overturned? It was an out of control tackle with both feet off the ground.
  4. A great player and perhaps our best ever value from a big money transfer. He chose Saints over Man Utd. Will never forget that freezing night at Blackburn.
  5. Mine came about a week ago
  6. I saw someone walk brazenly into the Chapel with the old Leeds smiley face badge tattoed on his leg
  7. But playing American idiot was just disrespectful to a manager who has done nothing to us and just made us look small minded
  8. Sometimes though players at other clubs who we didn't rate that highly can come in and do a surprisingly good job. For example when Strachan took over he brought in Telfer and Wiliams who made an immediate difference.
  9. I really do not want Dyche. But the main argument I would have agreed with that he doesn't fit our style holds less and less water with every game that passes and it becomes clear that we don't actually have a style, apart from being utterly incompetent.
  10. I would if I could be there
  11. Surely someone has to ask the question of how many matches the club is prepared to lose before Ralph is sacked?
  12. If they want him then we should ask for Broja and £20 million
  13. There is a big difference between Leeds and Leicester in that Leeds actually won nothing despite their spending. Leicester have achieved a league title and an FA Cup win that they will remember for ever.
  14. With three season tickets in our household that's three boxes sent separately. Why can't they put them in one package?
  15. I am guessing we will wear the so far unlaunched third kit. The white home kit is clearly out. The away kit has blue shirts that will clash with Spurs, unless we have change light blue shorts.
  16. Ours came yesterday (Saturday)
  17. Think Schmeichel is variable. When we lost at Leicester in 2011/12 it was our forwards versus him and he won the game. Other games I have seen he has been poor and his distribution is dreadful. However he can just point to his Premier League and FA Cup medals to prove me wrong.
  18. The elite clubs are running their businesses very poorly if they only get a 7% cut for each shirt sold.
  19. Ings did feature in Villa's kit launch
  20. I always quite liked the strapline on the front of the programme "welcome to the Dell for South Coast Soccer"
  21. I still have two rosettes from 76 but I think they died out pretty much from then on. But rosettes tended to be sold by unofficial street vendors and that was the time when clubs began to get interested in protecting their copyright. There were some variations of the city badge that replaced the roses with footballs and I have a supporters club badge, probably from the late 60s, that uses a monk with a halo as the logo.
  22. Arsenal's current badge is awful, the simple cannon they had in the 1970s was much better. Chelsea's new badge is just a slightly revised version of a 1970s original and Manchester City have effectively gone back to the 70s after using a far too fancy design. Spurs too tried fancying up their badge and have returned to the simple and elegant cockerel. Villa have a totally anodyne badge and are consulting with fans in an exercise that will probably see an original design restored. Generally far too many clubs have fixed things that aren't broken with their crests and then ended up paying more money to unfix them. Redesigns are far more likely to end up with terrible badges like Stoke and Newcastle than a classic. So while I am not totally against a change, I fear what we could end up.
  23. KWP was playing for Saints on loan before PEH left so wouldn't see that as part-exchange unless it was always intended to be part of the deal. Arguably James Beattie from Blackburn in exchange for Kevin Davies was a rare example of a successful swap for us. At the time we were told that the deals were separate, but the timing suggested otherwise.
  24. He went out on loan to Notts County but came back to play in the final games of the 83-84 season, including the 3-1 win at Notts County that claimed the runners-up position. So he can rightly claim to have been part of the greatest Saints team of all time.
  25. would not blame him at all if he decided to move on. With the right club the world cup squad is still in reach.
