The anticipation of your final implosion is starting to lose it's edge a little bit now TBH. When it first became obvious what was going to happen it was like waiting for Christmas, sadly Christmas seems to have been postponed until mid February. Would you please get on with it!

I was treated by the belgian system once when I needed a scan on my ankle. They were brilliant. Had me in and out straight away and saw the doctor again about 30 miniutes after I had the scan. When I had the same in the UK is was about a month after the scan...

Completely agree with this bit. Opinions do tend to get very polarised on things like the NHS. I’ve never worked for/with the NHS and so will concede that I have absolutely no expert knowledge on this but… Ultimately if everybody has to pay their own way there will be people with genuine need who are unable to pay for treatment and suffer unfairly and unjustifiably. Equally if the government/tax payer fund everything there will be spongers who take a lot more than they put in. Some because they contribute nothing (which others resent) and some because they have treatment which may be considered unnecessary/luxury (e.g. cosmetic surgery). The other issue is that although the NHS as is doesn’t seek to make a profit as a private company does (obviously) it is, or appears to me anyway, to be amazingly inefficient. IMO private providers would be able to offer the same services for much less than it costs the NHS. IMO there it must be possible to work out a system of “national insurance” whereby the government will pay for a basic level of cover for all through a panel of private companies (competing with each other). Although these companies would be seeking to make a profit they should be able to do so by having a much lower cost base rather than charging more than it currently costs the NHS. The details would have to be sorted out by others who know more about healthcare than I but I would envisage this covering cancer treatments, A&E, broken legs that I would term “basic/essential need treatments”. If people then want to be covered for “discretionary treatments” like cosmetic surgery to correct a broken nose or a sex change operation then they can fund that themselves. Maybe I’m being naive though. Of course now that the NHS is in place to close it down/sell it off/get rid of the layers of middle management etc would cost an absolute fortune and so probably isn’t practical.

I would genuinely feel sorry for them if it wasn't so f***ing funny.

Would he really go through with that? Balls of steel if he does.

Exactly what I thought.

I must have been a bit behind you as didn't manage 4/ I signed up with 365 and have £10 on them being relegated at 3/1 £10 and on them coming bottom at 11/1. Got a "free" £10 bet for signing up and put it on Fulham to beat them on Saturday. Can't remember what the odds were but over 2/1 so if that comes in I've covered the other stakes already...

Fair enough. In the accounts... If you go to the notes to the Balance sheet do they have a net debt statement? (probably towards the end). Failing that what are the totals of the Bank debt figures in the current and long term liabilities?
-
Not it it's the NET worth you don't.

It does depend upon how much you have actually trimmed from the wage bill. Reportedly (and I recognise that this is "reportedly" and so likely to be a little ott) you were losing £2m a month. That is a LOT. Have you really trimmed that much (or close given that it might be a little high) from the wage bill? You'll know better than I but I doubt it. Secondly, don't forget that even profitable companys can go into administration. Cash flow is more important in your situation than profitability and if you don't have the CASH to pay your liabilities as they fall due you will be insolvent. Then the worst could happen. I acknowledge that I (as a saints fan) probably lean towards the negative view of your chances but you are also biased the other way. We'll have to wait and see, however players won't play for nothing until January just because that is when the next installment of sky money will arrive as it doesn't "even out over the year". As there are no other significant funds coming in before the next sky istallment you need to have the vast majority of the cash in place NOW in order to be able to fund your overheads until January to survive. I don't think that cash is currently in place. I think if the cash were there then the deal would have been done by now and you would be under Dr. Al's ownership, whilst the takeover continues to drag the more and more sure I am. You may disagree but we are both guessing. Ramble over.

The "facts" as I see them are that: 1) All other things being equal the squad as it stands could stay up. 2) There is insufficient funding to operate the Company (i.e. pay the overheads including wages). Therefore either: a) The current squad, capable of avoiding relegation remains. They run out of cash and are placed into administration. This results in a -9 point penalty and the administrator sells players in January. They then have -9 and from January onwards, no longer have the squad to avoid relegation. b) They sell players to raise cash to avoid administration in the short term. From August onwards they no longer have the squad to avoid relegation. IMHO they are deep in the brown stuff and will have to get very very lucky to stay up. Even if they could keep all of their current squad and avoid administration (which I don't think they can) it would only take 2 or so injuries to leave them playing the youth team. They're knackered.
-
But therein lies their problem. Give it a couple of weeks and they won't have a squad capable of staying up.

Sounds very close to the truth... with one exception. Do you think he started to write that about Poopey and the good Dr before becoming confused?

Northam Steve. Edit: Damn, already taken.

God knows what she's looking at online but she had another attempt to get her to down load something yesterday. What looked exactly like a windows defender page popped up with again what looked exactly like the "My computer" window showing the drives etc. It then looked as though it was running a scan and showed 756 (or something similarly outrageous) tojans on the c drive and propted her to down load a fix. It was only becuase she called me over and I spotted that it was all displayed within a IE page that stopped her from doing it all over again. W**kers

Awesome. Looks like its all sorted. We've also had a small chat about downloading everything and everything that pops up on the screen so she knows how she managed it. Cheers mate.

This alsoseems to have happened to Mrs CS's machine. She had AVG installed but after she was doing some research and tried to open an online pdf. She then had a load of warnings pop up telling her she had a trojan and that she should install what appeared to be a microsoft file called: Setup_build8_157.exe Needless to say she downloaded and ran it without questioning it and now has Windows Defender pop ups every 10 mins telling her she has a trojan. "Attention a spambot, which is sending viruses to your contacts has been detected on your pc" I've run an AVG scan which found the trojan but doesn't seem to have deleted it. The scan was set to automatically heal infections. I tried running AVG from safe mode overnight but again it doesn't seem to have fixed it. She has a lot of work stored on her laptop which she really can't afford to lose but obviously hasn't backed up. Any suggestions? Also as a seprate question isn't windows defender an antivirus program? Could it be clashing with AVG somehow? Thanks in advance guys. CS EDIT: Forgot to say that she currently can't get on line either. Both firefow and IE freeze almost imeadiatly on opening.

If had been up to lowe we wouldn't have gone into admin at all. He made many mistakes but I don't think this was one of them. EDIT: Because I don't think it was his call not becuase I don't think it was a huge b*lls up.
-
By a matter of days! This still p*sses me off. I have no idea who's call this was but a HUGE c*ck up by somebody. Probably becuase they thought the holding co structure would prevent the deduction. Entirely predictable that it didn't.

Although I can see the merits of this, for my money "justice" should be upheld and he should see out his term.
-
He should serve his time IMO. Maybe others no more about his life than I do but from what I have seen, he committed a crime and escaped from prison. Had he been caught straight away he would have remained ion prison for the remainder of his term. As it was he got to Brazil and played on his fame, selling t-shirts and promoting his fame whilst taunting the police who knew where he was but were unable to arrest him in a foreign country. When he became sick he decided to come back to England so that he could receive free medical care. He deserves to be in prison and should not be released imo.
