Well you've learned something today then haven't you.

They wouldn't write it off unless they had too. It is possible (however unlikely) that Dr Al Said something alsong the lines of (numbers made up and not based on anything at all) "If I don't buy the club it will go into administration and you will only get 10% payment. I won't buy the club unless you agree to write off 80% and I'll pay you 20% over 10 years" However again I think it unlikely. If the deal has actually gone thorugh I would guess that Standard Chartered/Barclays have taken further security (i.e. future sky money and personal guarantees) and have agreed to extend the capital repayment period. This still leaves them with a mortgaged future and a great deal work to do to survive. New stadiums etc would still be a pipe dream. On the other hand maybe Dr Al has been 100% honest in everything he has said so far, really is a gazillionaire and will pump vast funds into the club...

I'm sure we'll hear this stated as FACT by the skates however the only ways that their debt has been wiped out is if: a) DR Al has paid it all off. Given how long this has taken highly unlikely b) The Bank and Gaydamak have agreed to write it off - Slightly more plausable in the case of Gaydamak but I still would bet my house against it. c) The Banks and Gaydamak are foreced to write it off as a result of the club going into administration. As far as I'm aware this hasn't happened. So, in summary, they are still in debt. As for the take over, I wouldn't believe any of Dr Al's announcements until I saw the paper work. I wouldn't be surprised if he were playing a desparate last throw of the PR dice. I assume there is nothing on their official site? If I were a skate (god forbid) I think I'd rather have Storie.

Its not so much the fact that it failed (which will happen with any manufacurer occasionally), its the telling me that they want over a month to repair it when I had not even had it for 2 weeks!
-
Thanks for this. I actually had my eye on a HP as soon as I get my refund from Dell (the screen failed within 12 days and they told me that it would take 5 weeks for them to repair. They then offered me a refund which I accepted but they then tried to withdraw - w*nkers). When you say "we" I assume you work in an IT department somewhere?

Hmm... What's that "really" in therefore. He's clearly on a sh*t load more money than anybody else would give him. Does he really expect people to believe that the lure of Notts County was just too good to turn down? Lol.

Exactly my point. This seems to be the case with almost all electronic equipment now. I'm in danger of starting to sound like my dad but I struggle to find any manufacturers that I trust to sell me something that will last much beyond the end of the warranty (if it even lasts that long).
-
As a side point is there any pc / electronics supplier that people have had good customer services experiences with? I had a Sony viao that had an issue. From me reporting it to them collecting, repairing and returning it to me was less that a week. I did go again shortly after the warranted ran out though... Dell were poor though.

Really? Wow And if he can do it against Hereford, Man United must be shi**ing themselves!

Selling Distin AND having a takeover deal done? Something doesn't add up...

I've got high hopes for the next FM (yet again). In the past I've always had them pre-ordered but am going to give it a few weeks this time around as I've just not enjoyed the last few installments. Why do they insist in additing in new features (e.g. the press conferences/ managing every aspect of morning and afternoon training etc) rather than improving and de-bugging the game that they already had? The beauty of the original FM games (or CM as they were) was the playability of them and striking the right balance between "real managemnet" and over complexity. Something that has been lost (IMO) in the drive to add as many different features as possible. FWIW it still looks better than CM though

Chrisobee, Seriously copy and paste you complaints and specific problems into the letter template above. I downloaded it from the BBC one show website and it is very good. Cs

Also if you used a credit card to pay for it contact your bank and say you wish to dispute the payment due to faulty goods. They will want a copy of all correspondence that you are able to provide them and can effectively take a refund on your belhalf (refund your ccard) if you can prove your case.

I've had a very similar problem recently and I recomend you use this Your name First line of address Second line of address Third line of address Fourth line of address Contact telephone number Owner/Manager’s name First line of company address Second line of company address Third line of company address Fourth line of company address Today’s date Dear Sir/Madam, RE: Faulty goods and the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended) On [date of purchase] I bought a [description of purchase] from you for [insert price] which has stopped working. The problem is [enter description of fault]. The Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended) states that when a consumer buys goods from a trader they must be: as described; of a satisfactory quality; and fit for any purpose made known at the time of sale to the seller. This legislation also states that the seller, not the manufacturer, is legally obliged to sort out a problem if the goods do not meet these requirements. The Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended) says: if goods break within the first six months after purchase then there is a presumption the goods were faulty when sold. My goods are not [delete as appropriate - as described/fit for purpose/of satisfactory quality] and I wish to claim a [delete as appropriate - repair/replacement/refund] of my goods under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 as amended. Although I think FM looks good (I especially like the look fo the tactics wizard, some thing that has been too over complicated in the past), FM has hardly covered itself in glory in relation to being bug free on release....

In total?

One word. Infrastructure. I think the best analogy here is (appropriately enough) construction. We currently don't have much built to speak of. What we do have though is a good site location and rock foundations on which to start building. You on the other hand have a fairly impressive building. It used to be 5 stories larger, however because it is built on sand it was about to fall down and you have had to demolish the top floors to prevent total collapse. Until you have a stadium, a training ground and premier league standard facilities this will continue and you will forever be papering over the cracks. Sooner or later everything will come crashing down around you. It is inevitable.

Lol.

Of course you have reduced the debts, you've sold £100m odd of players. I don't believe you've reduced them to the extent that you do because much of the transfer fees won't have have been received in full yet. You also fail to take account of the fact that your debts haven't been siting still whilst you sell players, all the time that you have been making losses your debts have been increasing. A lot of the player sales will have covered the increase in debts during the past year rather than actually reducing that those reported in the last accounts. As for the wages, again of course you have reduced your wage bill. I hsve no idea how much by though. I suspect it is less than you think however I have neither the time nor the inclenation to bother to go through the sales and count it up. You are happy to list the salaries of the players which have left but you forget that you are also paying salaries for your loan players which will partially off set you figures. You know what he means. Every time you have something to be optimistic about (transfer rumour threads, Storie consortium etc) you show up, every time things don't look so good you go awol. That which has been received will have gone partly on reducing debts and partly on running costs. We sold dyer not long ago to help fund wages. Where do you suppose that you wage bill is being paid from at the moment? I think it very unlikely that Barclays are allowing you to extend your overdraft so some of the transfer funds will have to be held back from paying back debts in order to cover your running costs. Given that come the end of August you will have to pay August, September, October, November and December wages before you can raisae any more cash by selling players do you think that Storie has spent all of your transfer income on reducing debt? If he has then you really are f**ked as gates of 18,000 aren't going to cover your running costs until January. Premier league income is covered by a debenture in favour of Standard Chartered so don't think that will save you. Anyway, bickering aside, have a good holiday.

For a while we had fans expecting Jackson's Farm to bail us out. It didn't. A car park isn't going to pay for a new stadium.
-
Just couldn't help yourself could you... **rolly eyes** etc

Premier league status. Thats it. As posted before... they have debts, are loss making, require investment in the playing squad, stadium and playing facilities. They are however a premier league club and that will always stir some interest.

I hadn't seen anything about this German chap before, however if Dr. Al says that he isn't a rival and is infact working on the Dr.'s behalf I'm inclined to beleive exactly the opposite.
