  1. :smt041:smt041:smt041:smt041:smt066 Except that if you are currently unable to pay the wages I suspect that without further "helping out" you will be in administration soon anyway. Also, although some may argue differently I suspect that you are already as good as down. If this is the case a potential purchaser would be faced with the choice of: a) purchase before administration, probably for £1. Take on all debts. b) purchase after administration. For more than £1 but debt free (excluding football related debt, transfer fees etc). Given that your debts are reported to be significant I would expect that be would be by far the cheaper and more sustainable option. Buying pre admin would daft. Very good question. Even if he sees the opportunity why not buy out of administration? I doubt the points penalty is going to make much difference at this stage.
  2. Good afternoon CoHo. If (IF) he has given the loan in anticipation of aquiring the club some how then it won't be through an administration procedure. If an administrator were to be appointed now (i.e. after the loan has been made) he would just be another creditor of the company. He might have some security but if the Banks currently lending have set up their security properly the club would need their permission to offer company assets as such (becuase they would no longer provide security for the Banks). Not second guessing his motives, he could be planning a £squiilion purchase for all I know, just pointing out that he will not be in a comfortable position if administrators are appointed. If this is part of a cunning master plan then it is indeed very very cunning.
  3. They don't. They get paid monthly, it is just common practice to describe the amount weekly. Probably as a hang over from the days when they would have earned significantly less.
  4. Because I couldn’t be bothered to re write what I had said on the other threat. If it keeps you happy though... Unless the Premier league are going to pump in cash to meet the clubs financial commitments, or use their time machine to go back and prevent the club from incurring the liabilities in the first place I don't see how that is possible. If there was a different way that the club's current finances could be run in order to prevent administration I'm sure they would already be doing it. Sounds like a rule "for show". And how would they fund things to January? The Banks, players and suppliers will still want paying. The PL can't stop QFCs appointing administrators if that is what they chose to do. Long story short. If the PL want to step in to prevent administration they need to do so BEFORE all of the mistakes are made not after, by which time it is too late.
  5. It doesn't. HTH.

  7. Unless the clubs who managed their finances better (and didn't win an F.A. cup in doing so) are prepared to gift cash to a club that didn't then where is the money for this going to come from? Another organisation taking over a club's finances doesn't all of a sudden make them profitable. Can't see it happening.

  9. Not for long... A very very very long shot.
  10. Lol "We have lots of photos of the chap (who is fine and sitting up having his photo taken) but the only one we have decided to publish is this one of a name tag on an unidentifiable arm. This financial difficulty is just short term and if you just hold off appointing administrators for a couple more days Dr Al will deal with it as soon as he is out of hospital. Honestly there is nothing to worry about. We'll pay you soon. Honest.:smt059" Yeah right.
  11. Exactly. I'd be willing to bet that the wages don't get paid today.
  12. (If I actually had an money to speak of) I wouln't lend any business with which that clown was involved a penny!
  13. The only way it is even slightly comprehendable (although it still doesn't "make sense") is if Dr. Al is either Dr. Saints or a complete d**k who is trying to wing it day to day.
  14. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/newshome/Peter-Storrie-The-cash-has.5695394.jp All of the money from January too! (I presume next given that it is hardly necessary to point out if it were last January) They really are fooked.
  15. You do have to wonder what happeded to him to make him that desperate for attention... I'm willing to bet he wasn't the most popular kid in school.
  16. Although obviously limited by the subject matter.... its not even a good painting.
  17. Been on the cards for ages. Even if they somehow manage to scrape the money together to pay the players today, what is going to happen next month? On a cash flow basis I expect most clubs will operate with a net cash outflow month to month with the large injections of Premier league cash in August and January to give them adequate headroom to see them through the other months. If they can't pay players the first month after they receive the premier league money how on earth are they going to make it to January? Also if you were the company/individual who had agreed "in principle" to give the good Doctor £50m in 3-4 weeks, would you still be comfortable doing so knowing just how precarious the financial situation is? Or is the £50m only due in 3-4 weeks so that the Doctor can claim, after everything falls over, that he had worked his little socks off to find funding and it is somebody else's fault for not giving him just 1 more week to get the cash in.
  18. A potential Tory voter lost then...
  19. Without having bothered to read the links does the proposal actually say "teachers can not go into a pub"? Thought not. Stop being stupid. As an accountant I am covered by a similar "code of conduct". If you want your professional body to stand for high standards and the level of respectability that I think teaching should, then you acknowledge that to maintain the reputation of that organisation there are certain standards that should be met. Sadly comments along the lines of "my responsibility as a teacher only applies between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday to Friday" suggests that there may be a reason that teaching has lost the standing it once had. This doesn't mean that you can't go to the pub. It does mean that if you go to the pub get bed wettingly w**kered and then on spotting a pupil at the bar march up and puke all over them then you should face a disciplinary procedure, and rightly so.
  20. Me too. The Good Doctor does seem to have a knack for winging it. Lets hope he can hold things together until the end of the season.
  21. Given that the plc claimed to be "only a holding company" I doubt it. Does seem like a long contract though.
  22. Even after he's taken a heat gun to it?
  23. Surely that would only make a difference if either gates were being limited by capaicity. At the moment it would appear that this sin't the case at either ground.
  24. Exactly why I underlined the word sure.
  25. Has he really though or has he raised finance "in principle"? He has bought the club and may have found finance to do so but if Storrie is to be believed he hasn't raised any money to put into the club. **deep breath** You might be right there. If you are down anyway and can be sure of a wealthy buyer on the other side it wouldn't be the end of the world for you.
