Exactly what happened and if told to play he would have done so.. Even the club were not sure about playing him for fear of losing the chance of the transfer fee. YES..they did want the money and had agreed to sign his replacement... The transfer negotiations were rolling along for several weeks at least...in respect of Saints and two other clubs... Phillips was leaving and Holloway knew it..Hence his petty complaint falsely alleging tapping up of the player.....All clubs talk to the players Agents directly and indirectly... As Holloway has done many times..sometimes through the press as many of our famous Arry boyz do all the time.. Holloway knows full well that the player was approaching the exit and the Chairman/owner wanted the fee..Holloway would not be playing him that close to the transfer and he knew it.. When Kenwynne Jones was near to exit...Any sensible Manager would not have played him...Jones did not refuse to play either.. Easier for Holloway to imply the player REFUSED to play when that is not true..

There are still doubts in my mind that some of my fellow posters do not support Saints or know zilch about football.
