Sounds like one to keep an eye on! I must admit I don’t know much about Borges. I guess seeing the quality of Lavia gives me hope that they might sell a baller. I still can’t get my head around Philips signing for £50m and giving us Lavia. Maybe it’s because they know he won’t develop quickly on their bench. Either way long May this relationship continue. We clearly need to stay up to make the most of that relationship.

I think City are more than happy to give us players they won’t risk regularly in their first team and retain that option to buy them back. They either make money for players that won’t ever make it for them or buy back the ones that will (Lavia would be likely an example in future). Almost becomes a development fee for turning their promising talents into top 4 players for the ones they would buy back. Also suits or sustainable model well, surely everyone is a winner?

The latest rumour that Nice have bid €18m for Moffi and he’d prefer to stay in France is an odd one. Especially if we had £20m rejected. I hope this is all agent chat and he’s coming to save the day. Or alternatively that we have another (like Beto) being worked on in the background. Maeda is not the main striker we crave.

With Bournemouth interested in Moffi and now having a stake in L’orient does that put them in the driving seat? If not surely he would choose Newcastle. Sounds like 7 PL teams are after him so not sure why he would choose us sat in dead last. Also if we have had a £20m bid rejected, if we increase surely we are overpaying, survival would be worth it of course but not sure we will do that?

I enjoyed his comment where he said if he’d lost all the cup games and won the leagues games he’d be jumping round staplewood on a pogo stick. Genuinely made me laugh out loud. He’s actually pretty funny at times. Agree he keeps being asked the same questions in different ways to try and get him to retaliate. He wasn’t an inspiring choice, he got off to a shocking start but the only way we get out of this mess is if we support the team and we build on the momentum of the last couple of games. Last night goes some way in my opinion to getting fans on side. We’ve beaten big teams before but usually needed luck like City not scoring from 27 shots on our goal or coming back from behind. One of the best performances in a long time surely gives everyone some belief that was clearly lacking beforehand. As Nathan says, we have now set the bar, let’s try and be as close to that as often as possible. More players to come in and improve the squad, there is hope where there was none, things can change fast in football.

Sounds like those rumours were true that Tino had injured his other leg. I wonder how much longer this keeps him out for? Big shame as he would have been back any game now otherwise. He must be so frustrated.

KWP and JWP are our best 2 players. Lavia shows importance but needs to stay fit to enter that category. Losing him in Jan with Tino not being ready is just not possible. I’d be sad to see him leave but agree it’s probably time from his perspective to move up the chain. I love how good he can dribble and take pressure off of us. When in from you just can’t get the ball off him. Great control in tight spaces and can play both sides. He’s unlucky we have so much strength at RB in the England squad. Assists and goal stats are interesting but also having such poor finishers will have influenced that. Perhaps not the best defensively but I love him as a player. He’s been a quality purchase who’s struggled a bit with niggling injuries when playing 3 times a week.

I have my doubts 😂
