  1. Agree. I always go back to those 4 games against Liverpool without conceding. Leicester are exactly like us under him - And they need to be just as careful with what they wish for because there's not a lot of wiggle room to move up the league.
  2. Probably right to be concerned after a red card that could have cost us the result. He's young & hopefully he will learn. Teams will test him out in the future, no doubt.
  3. Bednarek's clearance was absolutely brilliant. Ralph is on his way to getting Romeu to his form under Puel. (I know Puel gets slated, but Romeu was brilliant under him).
  4. Found this old thread about Radio Solent memories which is worth a look: https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?52397-Radio-Solent-memories#.XDxpFVz7SUk
  5. Brentford don't f*ck about. They buy cheap & sell big. Very good at it too.
  6. Always a pleasure to listen to, even more so after a win. Great to hear Grant Coleman too. I remember all those tunes / goal jingle that Solent used to play (coupled with frantically checking Ceefax - it was like a self produced Soccer Saturday ).
  7. Linked with him today (rather oddly, via an Italian website): https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2019/01/14/report-southampton-join-race-for-leeds-wonderkid-jack-clarke/ & linked with a Southend wonder-kid as well: https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-west-ham-to-lodge-bid-for-striker-who-scored-61-goals-last-season/
  8. Similar odds to those 2 things happening
  9. That's 1 of 2 extraordinary things I forgot about that I was reminded about today: 1) Caulker joining Liverpool. 2) MK Dons beating Utd 4-0 under LvG.
  10. He's on the list of best championship attackers. Having a very good season.
  11. Don't Bournemouth always go a bit sh*te midway through a season? I'm sure they will be fine.
  12. I think Ralph will try 4-2-2-2 again. So hard to predict a line-up without knowing Lemina / Bertrand status. He might start with Redders again, but I'd rest him. -------------------Gunn------------------ Cedric---Stephens---Vestergaard---Targett ----------Slattery------JWP---------- Armstrong-----------------------Elyounoussi ------------Long----Gallagher------------
  13. Sky Sports ran a handy report on him recently: https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11688/11478877/ollie-watkins-why-the-brentford-forward-is-the-next-big-thing
  14. Oh nice!! Didn't expect that one. That reporter, Lyall Thomas works for Sky as well & is usually really clued up on Spurs especially. Brentford hold out for big bucks usually, so unlikely we'd be able to go for both at the moment. I've always liked the idea of signing up young talent from the championship (they seem harder to find now as a lot of the best players down there are now owned by Prem sides).
  15. This. Thought he looked really good. Going to be a top player.
  16. Ake just linked with Chelsea this morning, as it happens. (£40m buy-back).
  17. Full time. Great win. The boys are having a brilliant season.
  18. Boro 1-2 Saints (Johnson pen)
  19. 1-1 Afolabi
  20. Boro 1-0 Saints
  21. Not sure if 'Boro are showing it or not. Hopefully our OS will at least show goal highlights as they go in. Kick off is 1pm.
  22. Agreed. (& to answer the question, a season & a half if we're lucky).
  23. The boss is happy. Source: https://southamptonfc.com/news/2019-01-13/ralph-hasenhuttl-on-ward-prowse-and-shane-long-post-leicester-southampton-premier-league
  24. Lets worry about staying up before we worry about anything else.
  25. More on potential Mepham deal:
