Regardless of whatever monkfish means, I think it would be naive to think that the people behind that company would make their 1st sounding out to clubs the day that they announce their operations Sky report says they 1st sounded out Spurs in December.

I believe our friend monkfish is hinting that the people who want to buy Spurs were interested in us.

Spurs will no doubt be offering Townsend everyday during January. On a side-note, probably good for Redmond to be staying in the championship for a few more months - I'll be keeping my eye on him.
