Bloody hell well done Forster but **** me we sound ****. Just can't see us scoring.
-
Eh he is generally very good defensively. The alternative is Pied ....
-
Guess he is trying to look better than Butland...
-
Fair play to Forster not his biggest fan but that's two decent saves he has pulled off.
-
Sounds, from the radio, like we are as blunt up front as normal.
-
Yeah even if they play with no defenders and no keeper Long still couldn't hit the target from 5 yards out..
-
Cheers for that. I have to admit that as yet the new boss doesn't seem much different from the old boss in terms of the way the team is set up and plays. We are still turd in the final third though defense and midfield (Lemina looks a hell of a signing) look stronger this season than last. If one of forwards can find some scoring form we will have a solid season.

On that basis it would be better if the big six just sodded off and started their own little league where they can all play each other 4 times a season in places like Dubai, L.A. and Seoul.

The Premier League’s six richest clubs are facing stubborn resistance against their efforts to seek a greater share of income from the next multibillion‑pound round of TV deals. http://www.bing.com/news/apiclick.aspx?ref=BDIGeneric&aid=C98EA5B0842DBB9405BBF071E1DA7651530FFE51&tid=9E0E00E2087E47FCAB0D407AB2013157&url=https%3a%2f%2fwww.theguardian.com%2ffootball%2f2017%2fsep%2f27%2fpremier-league-clubs-block-big-six-tv-cash&c=7022519565473308022&mkt=en-gb That the PL seem to support the idea suggests they don't want a competitive league and are more worried about the big six running of to form a European super league.

Given everything that's happened he'd be better off not mentioning Liverpool at all further more he must the only person outside Liverpool that thinks Liverpool are going to be the PL team to go furthest in the Champions league.

The thing about Clasie, Hoj and JWP (even Steven Davis when played as a deep midfielder) is once you see Lemina play you realise just how ****ing average they are. Last season we had Romeu having to carry the central midfield almost single handed. This season if we can keep them fit Romeu and Lemina are going to be a really good central midfield pair.
-
seems like Stoke have the Southampton disease... "We need to attack the box in numbers not just have one person waiting for the perfect ball to find him while being marked by 4 defenders and a midfielder"
-
You had me worried then I thought that was your suggested line up to play against Stoke...
-
Purely on PL goals Long - 214 PL appearances 44 goals average 1 goal every 4.8 games Austin 59 PL appearances 26 goals average 1 goal every 2.2 games Gabby 14 PL appearances 5 goal average 1 goal every 2.8 games seems the Championship striker is a better goal scorer in the PL than our other strikers Austin doesn't have the all round game of a top PL striker but who cares as long as he actually scores goals. We are at a point in this goal drought that I don't give a **** if our striker stands around doing nothing all game if he scores some actual goals.
-
Considering we missed three pens at the end of last season, two of which would have most likely gained us another 6pts, I think we can safely say taking pens isn't so easy and having a player who can actually take them well is an asset.
-
Good news people we are the least annoying fans in the league according to Fourfourtwo https://a.msn.com/r/2/AAsm7Z0?m=en-gb

I swear there was a game early last season that Puel moved Redmond central behind the striker and I remember thinking he looked pretty good there.
-
Why not just play McQueen instead of Redmond he is reasonably quick and tends to go more direct than Redmond certainly better than Boufal trying to beat the entire opposition outfield 10 before considering a pass.
-
Yeah with Forster's kicking he is more likely to put it into our net than Stokes...
-
We have three strikers and we don't seem to play to any of their strengths. Austin is a goal poacher if you play him you stick him as close to the oppostion goal as possible and leave him there. No point having him drop deep to collect balls or rotating with other two in a front three so he ends up playing out wide. If we play Long then really we should be looking to just go long and hit the channels so he is running on to to the ball and turning the CBs around If we play Gabbi we need to be playing it into his feet or into space behind defenders. Instead we play a style that requires out strikers to win lots of ball in the air often with their back to goal, win headers from endless crosses pumped into the box and hold up the ball to bring in players from midfield. Maybe we should just pick our best striker (which is clearly Gabbi) and get the team to play to his strengths rather than trying to get our strikers to play like a big CF.
-
I couldn't care less if our striker hardly moves all game as long as he is putting the ball in the net. Both Lambert and Pelle got slated for being immobile and not moving enough but I give my left bollick for a player like that in our team right now.
-
Which makes him different to all our other attacking players how?
-
You're not alone I managed to conspire to be on holiday the weekend we played Westham....
