You do realise that was Gardos's first proper game in two years of course he was going to be a bit ****. It was just as unfair on him to be chucked into a game surrounded by kids with virtually zero DM cover as is was on the rest of them.

I've heard PL footballers don't feed themselves anymore anyway these days, they can afford to hire people to do it for them, this particularly useful as many of them find knives and forks pretty tricky things to work... -
Steven Caulker is available on a loan....
-
Is anyone calling for Puel out on this thread? The debate is surely weather we should, as a mid table side, prioritise a cup game over a league game and what form rotation takes. Yesterday was the first time this season I've felt Puel took rotation to far.
-
If the most arrogant post you've seen is one saying the current saints squad is a mid table side you really aren't trying hard enough...
-
Better than a French international CB in Jan......probably not.

Apparently we need to keep our best players fit and injury free on that basis I'd play the same team as yesterday, in the cup, in the league until the cup final no point risking Yoshida getting injured...... -
The club, it seems, have put a lot of effort into trying to get this guy hope he is worth it.
-
My guess is because we hadn't reached the EFL final at that stage so wanted to try and stay in the FA cup until it was clear if we were in the final. It feels like getting to the EFL cup final made the club decide to bin off the FA cup.
-
Replacing Fonte already?
-
I think that stat just took a nose dive...
-
That's a ridiculous amount of time not to play a game mid-season man u will be nice and match sharp for the cup our players not so much. Look what happened when we had a bit of break before Christmas.
-
Why? We are comfortably going to finish mid table the Swansea game will have little impact one way or the other. One cup final is fantastic no getting away from that but I don't see why getting to one should mean we just blow the other cup off just to prioritise one league game that will have make very little difference at the end of the season.
-
WTF is that not against FA rules....
-
eh didn't you right this earlier Disgusted with the team that has been put out. Absolutely disgusted. We may as well have just forfeited the match and refunded all the poor buggers that have paid to watch this utter ****e.
-
So great we put a nice rested team out against Swansea and maybe get a result but in the end (probably a harder ask away from home than against a weak Arsenal squad at home) so what? 3pts here or there at the end of the season means **** all in the end a run in the FA cup would be much better. I don't see why a great run in the EFL means we need to ditch the FA cup. When it comes to the league unless you are in the top six or the bottom three it really makes little difference to the fans (granted for the club it equals more cash). My argument is for a club like us if you are prioritising games, and safely in mid table, surely cup should come before league?
-
Sadly he doesn't look to be improving we need another holding midfielder to cover/compete with Romeu.
-
Pretty clever how the fixed the draws to make sure we gotten drawn against each other in both cups....
-
Yes and weaker than the sides we put out against Norwich which is strange because the teams have been pretty decent in the cups so far. I can only assume the club decided one cup run was enough this season and we can now just concentrate on a solid league placing.
-
We don't rotate to protect players from injuries we rotate to keep players fresh to play with a good energy apparently.
-
So they'll be match fit and our players will all be rusty?
-
We're a mid table club the cups should always be a priority for me. Our best side would have given that Arsenal team a good game. If we were in a relegation scrap or battling for top six I could understand the team selection but people saying Swansea game is more important GTFO really who cares? I'm not anti Puel, I really don't get that bothered about squad rotation, I love seeing youth players come through but today Puel ****ed up. We fielded to many youngsters with no senior players to lead them on the pitch I don't see how a tonking like that will help the youngsters. Feeding one or two in to a team of senior pros is fine and a lot of our younger players have played well when put into the team that way but just chucking them all in together was always going to be crap. Meh its done now but I always get ****ed when it feels like we haven't taken a cup competition seriously when in reality they will always be our best chance to achieve something as a club.

Probably destroyed his confidence. I mean surely its better to play him with a solid experienced defence in front of him to put him in goal with this defence in front of him is ****ing unfair really. -
