This Telegraph corruption expose is becoming weaker by the day. Big Sam and some lower league bloke (whose name I can't even remember) was as good as it gets and even then Sam came across more stupid than corrupt. Hardly Jack Warner levels of corruption going on is there? I have no doubt that there are some dodgy bastards in English football (mostly agents if I was to hazard a guess) but catching them is probably going to be much harder now thanks to the Telegraph.
-
There is no proof of that though so we can only make comment on the Telegraph's earth shattering revelations not on stuff that might/might not have happened, from the Telegraph article Mr McGarvey also raised the prospect of Mr Black identifying players for the Far East firm to approach, though no payment was offered to Mr Black. He said: “You know when you’re watching the games, Eric … and you think there’s a young kid who’s really good. You give me a name?” Corruption of the highest level there....

from the telegraph "During the meeting, which was arranged by his long-term friend Scott McGarvey"
-
I assume by greedy you mean Black had extra pudding during the lunch meeting? Of all those so far exposed by the Telegraph he is the only one who didn't ask for or was offered any money, no money changed hands at this meeting or at any other time. Black might be a giant plonker but greed he certainly doesn't appear to be.

QPR have put their investigation on hold as the Telegraph are refusing to let them see their evidence. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37518589
-
Yeah they don't seem to interested in letting the FA or the club see all the footage they took which is interesting.
-
Except from what I can work out no money has actually changed hands and there is no suggestion Black received any money or bribed anyone. As I said earlier Black comes out of this looking more foolish than corrupt.
-
Ok now I'm just confused ?
-
Reckon that will screw us then. Even though we've kept some players back a 6000 mile round trip with delays and such like just isn't good preparation for this game. Think it will catch up with us.
-
I see on foxestalk they reckon our boys at still in Israel after their flight was delayed......

???

On the scales of football corruption Black seems to be rather on the minor side. A far as I can tell he hasn't received any money, offered to bribe anyone, been bribed himself or asked for any sort of consultation fee for his advice. What he has done looks more like stupidity than corruption. I have no doubt the club will get rid just to keep our brand whiter than white but Black is hardly in the Sepp Blatter league of corruption.
-
So as this happened after he joined the club you are saying the club failed in their due diligence to predict the future? If this had happened before Black joined saints, was common knowledge, and the club still employed him then the club would be at fault but as far as I'm aware Black has never been caught doing anything like this before. What Black did was off his own back as long as the club sack him then this doesn't reflect negatively on the club at all IMO.

Well seeing as the only place at SMS where you can actual make out what is being said on the tannoy is in the toilets I'm not sure it's a great plan.....
-
being investigated for illegal betting* cross close but no cigar....
-
He will be sacked. No reflection on the club IMO he has only been an employee for a few months and he certainly wasn't doing this with the clubs blessing.
-
Considering his recent fitness problems doubt we can play Austin in every game. Plus our other forward players won't get the chance to start scoring if they don't get game time. I'm cool with the squad rotation myself especially if we get a result at Leicester.
-
Though arguably not losing this game was more important than winning it so maybe our fullbacks where told not to take any risks and keep it tight over raiding into the opposition half.
-
It could be argued the best way to conserve energy is not to give the fecking ball away so much.....
-
Don't understand why we cross so much with a front pairing of Long and Redmond and a midget midfield. This team was set up for threaded through balls or ones over the top with Long and Remond playing on the shoulders of their defence. No hope with high over hit crosses into the box from out wide.
-
little quality and dull from both sides.
-
You'd think away games playing on the counter attack would suit him perfectly...but not tonight
-
Pretty much this. I think Puel was happy to just not get beat away from home in a 7000 mile round trip to a desert. Probably hoped to nick one on the break but our forward players didn't seem capable of that tonight.
-
What's that now five in row without conceding
-
0-0 a decent away point with arguably a second string side after a long trip. With some of our best players fully rested for Sunday's game.
