  1. Really? I thought Jrod looked very good when he came on, sharp, got to see plenty of the ball, made some good attacking moves and worked back to help out the defence a very good performance for a player coming back from injury.
  2. Especially when you consider Hoj didn't even get on the pitch. Also I'm not sure what Puel has done but JWP is looking much improved in recent weeks (admittedly mostly as a late game sub). Reed also looked decent in the one game he has played this season. All in all the midfield is looking pretty good at the moment.
  3. He was an absolute monster in the tackle today. Twice today he nicked the ball of the foot of a Burnely player with his head (bloody brave) and constantly won every tackle.
  4. Fair play to Morgan for taking time out of his busy playing schedule to hang out with a girls football team http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37656991
  5. Totally but even if he is fully fit it would be pretty harsh to drop someone from the team to make way for him with everyone playing so well at the moment. Bouf will get his chance but I'm not to worried when that is, if I'm honest, given how well things are going (unless being a **** hot left back is also in his locker).
  6. TBH we are doing pretty well without him so I don't see any point rushing him into the squad if he isn't 100% ready.
  7. My thoughts to. Doubt he will start though but at the very least, given our full back situation, he will be on the bench as cover.
  8. Pretty much this. It has always been a one persons word against another kind of deal based on weather she gave consent on that night or not. The first time the jury believed her the second time, after the judge allowed the unprecedented move or using her past sexual partners as witnesses for the defence, the jury believed Evans. I imagine you could have a re-trail with another set of jurors tomorrow and he could just as easily be found guilty again.
  9. So just reading a guardian article Evans defence lawyers were allowed to call the woman's previous sexual partners as witnesses something that is not normally allowed but the judge decided was ok in this case.....seems fair and opens up a whole new front in sexual assault cases I would have thought were any victim can have there past sexual encounters used as justification for an assault. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/oct/14/footballer-ched-evans-cleared-of-in-retrial During the appeal case that led to the retrial, lawyers for the crown suggested the two new witnesses may have been “fed” information by those close to Evans. This claim was rejected by Evans’s side. Evans’s fiancee, Massey, was accused in legal argument during the second trial of offering an “inducement” to a key witness. The prosecution said this had “the flavour of a bribe”. The trial judge disagreed with this description. The appeal court judges, whose decision can be reported for the first time, expressed “a considerable degree of hesitation” before allowing in the new evidence of the former partners because it resulted in the victim’s sexual behaviour being subject to forensic scrutiny – which is almost always banned. The complainant continues to be named and abused on social media though the law gives her lifelong anonymity. The police are investigating one blog that identified her during the trial.
  10. Genuine LOL for the first time in years I'm actually able to go to the boxing day game rather than being stuck at the in-laws and they move the ****ing game ...
  11. Seeing as after Burnley we have Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool in our next 4 pl games ( the other being Hull) it would suggest to me we need to pick up three points against Burnely. So strong team for Burnley second string at Inter we probably only need a draw at Inter to get out of the group stages.
  12. Well seeing as I will be at the Burnley game and won't be in Italy I'll take a win against Burnley over Inter any day of the week. Happily thrash Inter at SMS as I will be at that game.
  13. And replaced him with another. Does anyone even care about international football anymore the whole thing seems utterly pointless.
  14. Not according to the echo. Sounds like the club are hopeful he will be fit but I wouldn't be at all surprised if he wasn't. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/14795104.McQueen_on_stand_by_as_Saints_suffer/ Aidy Boothroyd left Targett out of the squad to face Kazakhstan last week as a precaution, but expected him to be fit to face Bosnia and Herzegovina in Walsall yesterday. But Targett was still unable to take part and was allowed to leave the squad to return to Saints for treatment. Though there is optimism that Targett will make a quick recovery, it is highly unlikely he will be deemed fit enough to risk over three games in the space of a week.
  15. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/14795104.McQueen_on_stand_by_as_Saints_suffer/ McQueen in line for the first team with Bertrand out and Targett an injury doubt. Could be a baptism of fire for the lad Burnley, inter and city ?
  16. Having seen Redmond's car and what he wears for civvies I'm pretty sure his gaff will be hideously vulgar.
  17. Cheers. I seem to remember he was a Colchester for a while guess he carved out a decent lower league career for himself.
  18. I was expecting worse to be honest...
  19. from that article Ryan Bertrand started the game, before pulling up with an injury trying to reach a Wayne Rooney and he will not be involved. I'm trying to work out if that is some sort of double entendre...
  20. Jesus how the hell did we get to a situation of possibly having to call up both our under 23 fullbacks, to the first team, in the space of a week.....****ty bad luck if it comes to that.
  21. What ever happened to Lloyd James wasn't he touted as a future Welsh international?
  22. Pretty sure I read he went to play football in India for a while.
  23. Saw this on the net and thought it was mildly interesting. A list of players who started in Nigel's first game as saints manager and were they are now a few of the details are wrong but a bit of a diversion from the ****ty international break. http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/10/10/nigel-adkins-first-starting-xi-at-southampton-where-are-they-now/page/1/
  24. Six then including one from Iceland and one from Canada..
  25. How many internationals do Burnley have? Our team is going to be knackered for Sunday I can imagine most of their team have had a nice week of rest....
