  1. If it is his Osvaldo moment what a crap game to waste it in....
  2. Doing our best to **** this up having got our noses in front
  3. Plays every week for the under23s shouldn't be that rusty.
  4. Yeah but this is basically the under 23s with a guy upfront who has played less than one game in England backed up Fonte and Yoshida against a strong ( for them) Sunderland team. Hardly a surprise its not going great.
  5. Maybe we have overdone the under 23s element tonight. They need to get chances but playing so many in one go rather than bringing in one or two to the first team has had a negative impact. Having said that before Jrods injury we were playing better.
  6. Pretty much all the senior under 23s on the pitch then. Saints started well looks like Puel is getting his message across on the training ground no matter who plays we are playing a very consistent style. Gone a bit to pot since Jrods sub though. Need to get our composure back.
  7. The ****e they've had to put up with over the years its pretty impressive that anyone still turns up to watch them.
  8. Luke Shaw taking driving lessons...in a £100,000 range rover.... ahh the life of a young PL footballer. Guess if he has stayed with us he would of had to learn to drive in a 35,000 grand motor... http://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/football/luke-shaw-takes-driving-lesson-in-%C2%A3100000-range-rover-with-his-mum-ahead-of-manchester-city-clash/ar-AAjpKPU?li=AA572I&ocid=spartandhp
  9. A nice read thanks Does anyone think Austin, in that first photo in the article, looks like he is enjoying that cuddle with Nathan just a bit to much?
  10. they have an even better dig at Samuel here http://www.football365.com/news/f365s-top-ten-things-we-all-got-wrong Definitely not related to The Times being sued by Southampton chairman Rupert Lowe in 2005 over one of his columns, the Daily Mail’s Martin Samuel wrote a scathing piece in September 2014 on Southampton under Ronald Koeman. ‘The problem is Koeman has made it look a breeze,’ Samuel wrote. ‘Successfully riding the sale of so many players at once is an unusual achievement; that was why the predictions for Southampton this season were gloomy. If the board thinks it can get away with it year on year, there is an inevitable conclusion. One player too many.’ Fresh from not learning his lesson, Samuel then laid into Southampton again for the appointment of Claude Puel this summer: ‘How can Claude Puel be a better bet for Southampton than Michael O’Neill after failing to win Ligue 1 with Lyon?’ was what I’m contractually obliged to call a hot take. Samuel was obviously (or at least hopefully) writing with wilful bias, but nobody truly expected Southampton to act out their same play for the third year running to quite the same effect. There they are again, two points off the top six and with the Premier League’s second-best defence. Oh, and Sarah Winterburn has written something great on them that you should read. I don’t want to be hit with a shoe either.
  11. Found this online one of those horrible saints praising articles ? http://www.football365.com/news/saints-alive-long-after-the-death-knells
  12. So Morgan is good enough to go to Everton, Arsenal or spurs but not good enough to get into our team anymore......
  13. We are missing quite a few of the senior(?) under 23 players by the looks of it.
  14. Totally. I've become pretty numb to our exodus every summer now anyway. Enjoy these players while there here then enjoy seeing what the club pulls out of the hat next I reckon.
  15. Really? you can't see why some of our fans think our best players will leave in the summer...
  16. Would like to see Hesketh get another go. He did really well against Palace the game then after a poor start in the Beer Hopel game he has just disappeared of the radar. Romeu should be rested as well Reed did well in the last cup game and he really needs games if he is going to develop.
  17. I think Puel said a couple of weeks back he wasn't quite ready for the first team yet.
  18. We never flog players in Jan. I could see us perhaps bring in Fonte's replacement in Jan but we won't be selling our captain in the middle of the season.
  19. Blimey are we on summer meltdown 2017 already....
  20. really I make it 13....
  21. That's got little to do with squad rotation and more to do with the fact they are utter class players. Arguably squad rotation would actually help protect them but we need to play them most of the time as we don't have any depth behind them. Having said that both should get a rest in the cup game against Sunderland which to my mind will be good use of squad rotation.
  22. The thing is if you want to be in Europe next season you have to do well in your domestic league. Short of winning the Europa if we want Europe again next season we need to finish top seven. Its a bit of a chicken egg scenario that will be the same all over Europe.
