This. We did enough to win the game and should have really. Their goal was shocking. A poor pass from Fonte (gifted them a corner) Villa couldn't even take the corner properly and scuffed it to bobble across our box where it should have been cleared, so basically 2 minutes of multiple brain farts, other than that they never really got close to us. Poor finishing is what cost us 2pts today.

Sitting the train we were the much better side but our finishing has gone to ****. Defense was solid midfield was good enough but goals look hard to come by against steam with 11 behind the ball for most of the game. Hoping for a decent AM (and no that is not Gaston) and and a striker to give pelle some competition.

Very much so last season was built on a good defense. I reckon defensive drills in training will be the order of the day for the players now.

Fair enough only time will tell I guess. We need to get our commercial income up and that will be easier if we have a big presence in the US the whole scheme might not work but I'm not going to have a go at the club for giving it a try.

Mostly because I think he is player on form (fantastic form granted) rather than a genuine quality player. He has never shown anything like this kind of form before and he isn't getting any younger. He is good enough for a mid table PL side but not really a player for the big boys. Which is why I think Leicester will find it easy to hold on to him. Mid table PL sides don't really sell players to each other much these days and no mid table side is going to pay the big fee Leicester would want. The really quality player in Leicester's team is Marhez and I reckon they will struggle to hold on to him.

Well I'm sure Vardy will enjoy a new contract but I don't think Leicester have much to worry about because the big clubs won't want him. If (big if) one of the top six did come in for him I'm pretty sure he (and his agent) would push for the move new contract or not.

Surely we need to see how this season pans out first before writing the club off. Granted we are going through a bad patch which no one is enjoying. However we are only 3pts of 6th place with someway to go this season despite not being at our best. I guess it all comes down to expectations.

Is that the Reed who played in the team who got destroyed by Norwich's under 21s the other week? the DM who was part of a team that shipped seven goals? that Reed?

It won't but it could play a big part in the clubs future and some future manger might well benefit. I'm all for the board planning for things long term as well as the here and now.

TBH do you think any of the big boys are really interested in Vardy? I doubt anyone would pay what Leicester would want because I think he is probably having the best form of his career right now (which has been outstanding) but he will drop off at some point back to the level of an OK PL player at some point. I think Leicester's big problem will be holding onto Marhez rather than Vardy.

Charlie Austin is to give Pelle Competition no? Replacing Mane would be a different player surely? if we get 40 million for Mane I think we could afford a replacement and Austin.

I have seen us play some crap stuff this season and some really good stuff (normally all in one match) but I really haven't seen a lack of effort or fight from the players. Some bad decisions and people switching off at bad times but I never got the impression they have given up and are going through the motions.

Really? I only had the radio to go on but they made a big thing about the change to three at the back only after the double subs were made which certainly wasn't at half time but I wasn't there so I'll defer to those who were on the matter.

Well seeing as Koeman has said he wants to get back to being hard to beat Davis is a shoe in because he will close down and defend from the front something Gaston is pretty much incapable of.

TBH pace or not Austin banged in 18 PL goals in a shockingly bad team last season making him the 4th highest scorer in the league he would certainly give us an option when Pelle isn't firing. Also at a reported £8 million quid we would still have plenty of cash left from £40 million for selling Mane to buy a couple of speedsters as well.

TBF we've been leaking goals like a sieve last few games last season was built on a good defence we need to get that sorted and halt the slide especially with Palace, spuds and Arsenal coming up...
