No one is looking for him to fail ( though you could argue he has already failed). This has more to do with the fact people seem certain he is going to come good when all evidence suggests other wise. Gaston has had his moments over the last few seasons but those are heavily outnumbered by the none moments. We've seen him put in good cameos in the cups a few times followed by hailing him a talent these cameos are never followed up. So now we have people labeling Juanmi not good enough (after one start) and stating Gaston should walk back into the first team based on a brief appearance in an already won cup game. If anything people seem desperate for Gaston to succeed rather than fail.

Pelle also makes us predictable he spends 90% of the game occupying the same area of the pitch, with his back to goal, if the opposition CB can cope with Pelle's physicality they get an easy game. Now imagine being the same centre back with Long, Mane and Jrod constantly changing position and running in behind you at pace. I like Pelle he is good at what he does and gets goals but I don't think his name should be first on the team sheet week in week out regardless of the opposition.

I think that is impossible to guarantee every club has signings who hit the ground running, some who need some time to adjust and some that just never make the grade.

Away from home prehaps we should look to play without Pelle and utilise the pace some of our squad have to exploit the counter attack ( unless we are playing west 10 men behind the ball brom away)

Didn't realise until this morning Swansea haven't won in three games. Form for both teams a little ropey. Have to say I really liked the more mobile attack we played with last night. Hard to drop pelle (and Ron won't) but our forward play was much more dynamic last night. With Pelle playing we seem far more predicable.
