Jan Transfer Window One Realistic Signing Who Would You Buy
doddisalegend replied to ally_uk's topic in The Saints
serious? I 'd say Cedric is way better than Janmaat. -
Not long until the PL starts losing it's 4th CL spot not good for Arsenal.....
-
Hay number 4 would just be used to annoy Pompey.....
-
Actually that would look pretty good so statues for every player who ever managed a full season for saints all stood to attention facing a statue of Markus ?

doddisalegend replied to Andy Durman's topic in The Saints
Maybe Sunderland should play their under 21s team instead of the current senior squad..... -

Think that's fair the bench looks much better this season you actually feel like there are options on the bench that can change a game. -
I see Lawrenson has described Lovern's injury as a blessing in disguise http://www.thesportreview.com/tsr/2015/09/mark-lawrenson-why-dejan-lovren-injury-blessing-in-disguise-for-liverpool/ Rather scathing comments as well He had a spell of two or three good games at the start of this season and you thought ‘you know what, maybe he’s going to fine’. “Wrong. His decision-making is absolutely awful. Awful. “What on earth was he thinking for the goal Carlisle scored in midweek? He should have gone and closed the ball down, not least as there were two other centre-backs to cover. “Instead he came rushing out. It’s like he had never, ever defended before in his life, let alone been a £20m international centre-back.”

So what do people think footballer talking up current players or is there some truth to Steven's point of view? There are people who have done a great job for the club over a number of years, so if you look at competition for places now within the squad, it's really healthy. It's arguably the best squad since I've been here." http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/southampton/news/davis-saints-squad-best-since-i-joined_248851.html#$$nve4xw&&Ua68YGXrEeWHjRJBhbMsDw$$

Really? I don't call getting within 15 feet of an opposition player and then waving your hands about like a backing dancer in a stage musical pressing. The Swansea players just played around JWP like he wasn't there half the time. If you want to see proper pressing and closing down watch Davis going about his job. Swansea only really got into the game after Davis went off.
-
Yep he isn't a loan.
-
I was at the game can't say I noticed any lack of team togetherness everyone seemed to be very happy (as they would winning 3-1)
-
-
But he has missed games through yellow card suspensions has he not?
-
You're kidding? Vic got away with a couple of wayward tackles that should have been yellows and then got a yellow card all in the first 45 minutes I was pretty surprised he was still on the pitch by half time. Luckily he calmed down in the second half.
-
Perfect? Lost count of the number of pointless flicks to no one. Worst one was near the end when he got free of the Swansea defence and instead of just heading to the corner to run the clock down he back heeled it right to a Swansea player. I like Pelle but not Mom for me.
-
Really?? I thought both our fullbacks were excellent, going forward and defending, yesterday. Probably helped by Swansea playing a diamond formation. Cedric was pinned back in the second half because of Montero but he was getting forward, in front of me, well in the first half. Ryan was a huge improvement on Targett (not a go at Targett who I think has improved as the season has gone on) and played like he had been there all season IMO

The best closer down of the ball today was Steven Davis by a country mile it was noticeable, as soon as he was subbed, that Swansea got more time on the ball.
-
Sat on the train. Actually thought we were pretty average and pretty sloppy at times but we made the chances count. Davis was excellent today closing down and working hard JWP could take some lessons. His idea of closing down seems to be getting about 15 feet from an opposition player and waving Jazz hands at them. Can VVD take all our attacking free kicks his last two have been the best I've seen in some time. Still think we are using the long punt to much when pelle is playing. Having said all that good win.

This why oh why.........

Saw this on the BBC Swansea pre-match article Graziano Pelle is expected to overcome a foot injury but the game comes too soon for Jordy Clasie. Wasn't aware he was injured guess he would have played against MK Dons otherwise and this thread wouldn't exist.

Who said there was anything wrong with that? I'm merely answering the comment that people want him to fail is clearly untrue. But hey if it gives you something to get upset about fill your boots.....
