Well he will stay if no one meets the clubs valuation. Also he has stated he will only leave for a CL club playing in the PL doesn't exactly give him a lot of options. The only one of the CL clubs with a link so far is Man U and even then Morgan is only seen as back up if they don't get their preferred choice. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Morgan went but first a big club has to offer a big load of dosh and that hasn't happened yet.

Happy for him. Wonder if he will bring in any of his old saints boys as transfers?

"Stop buying players from Southampton" maybe? -
If they offer 10+ million for a 31 year old I'm sure the club would sell.
-
Think you are looking at from a saints point of view. As a club we (generally) want to buy young players who will increase value so we can sell them for profit later. Not sure the big super rich clubs think the same way.
-
His age matters because no one will pay what Fonte is worth to saints for a player over 30.
-
Yep its not like we are trying to force some little club (like Brighton for example) to sell us a player.
-
And yet I don't think he has made it into any team of the season I've seen in the papers or on the net.....which I find a bit weird.
-
I see in the Metro they are saying that Chelsea are going to hijack our attempt to get Toby by offering 7 million for him. Wouldn't that actually net Madrid less money, once they've paid us the 1.5 million fee, than selling to us?
-
from the BBC gossip Manchester United have confirmed their interest in Bayern Munich's Bastian Schweinsteiger - but will switch their attention to Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin if a deal cannot be done.
-
Saw this morning that he is linked with quite a few clubs (Everton, Liverpool and Citeh) don't think he'd come here HTBH think he feels he deserves a top 4 club.
-
Especially as the other day he was quoted as saying he was trying to get Morgan and Clyne to stay. TBF at his age I doubt there will be a good deal available he is to important for us to let go cheaply and to old for anyone else to pay much for him.
-
All our players are for sale for the "right" price.

Yes but football isn't the same as other working environments I doubt you have 40,000 fans at your work place. Football fans are passionate about their team which, rightly or wrongly, tends to make them excitable and prone to over reaction. Trying to compare working in football to working in Tesco really doesn't work.

Top 4 chance now gone? Europa Thoughts?

Will be quite exciting, when the draw happens, to go away to research some team I've probably never heard of and then trying to find them on goggle earth:) -
I wouldn't bet on LVG ruining him probably try and play him as a wing back or something
-
Yep he has been pretty clear that he wants to be a regular 1st teamer where ever he goes he wants to play. This gives me slight hope that we might still get him back as here he is pretty much the first name on the team sheet something not guaranteed at some of the really big clubs.
-
I think the problem is more that his parent club couldn't buy any replacements so it wouldn't be in their interest to sell players when they can't replace them.
-
Any deal with spurs was off the minute Morgan said he wouldn't leave saints for Europa league football.
-
I doubt it with Wenger in charge....

Nathaniel Clyne Joins Liverpool - Official
doddisalegend replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
No one is going to Liverpool for the glory they've been in decline for years, I really don't believe any player bases his transfer on a clubs history. Only a few weeks ago Clyne was talking about regular CL football you wouldn't go to Liverpool for that. I'd never suggest we were a big/better club than Liverpool but I still reckon Clyne is good enough to play for a better club than Liverpool. Shame his agent ****ed up the man U transfer for him.
