Isn't that same for most clubs outside the top 6? A club like ours is never going to have 2 quality players for every position.

We're not a good team for him didn't he get sacked by Leicester after we stayed up and they got relegated on the final day in the championship? Left Palace after we beat them last season, got humiliated as a visiting PL manager in the FA cup. A few of his ****est moments in football all down to saints:)

All true...........Although at the moment I'm struggling to see how he will get a game as midfield is the only area we have some decent depth.

TBH Gaston hasn't really delivered the goods since he arrived at saints. If he had left and Lallana had stayed, this summer, I doubt so many people would be bothered. Having said that he has shown glimpses of his talent while here and after the upheaval this summer we aren't exactly overrun with creative players, so to my mind, we'd have been better of keeping him at the moment. A good run in the team playing behind Pelle (instead of JWP) might have brought out the best in Gaston but ,if this rumour is true, it looks like we will never see it.

Did we ever? we are never going to win out when trying to sign a player that a top 6 PL side want to sign.

Just saw that on the rumours thread. We'd be pretty mad to let anyone (bar Jos) go now so close to the window closing IMO. I'd give Gaston one last season to try and prove himself we are hardly blessed with creative players right now.

We'd be mad to let him go now as we won't be able to replace him. I'd give him time this season under RK to make an impact.

Don't disagree would like to see Gaston given ago in place of JWP behind Pelle TBH. As for pointing the finger at the wrong player I don't believe so. Morgan will never get dropped so that leaves Vic or Jack as the other DM with Jack we play better football IMO but Vic gives us better denfesive cover horses for courses. People talk like we have to play one or the other all season I don't see why we can't change depending on the oppostion. Like I said I'd play Vic against westham but at home I'd more inclined to play Jack becuase we seem to move the ball faster and with more purpose when Cork plays.

I disagree. Last saturday is a game where Corks faster moving of the ball would have been more use than Vics defending against a team little interested in attacking............. in less your calling Westbrom a lower division team;)

But not last night hence he was subbed for Cork which changed the whole game for the better. We have an issue that in general big Vic equals better defensive performance and Jack Cork equals better going forward while moving the ball quicker as we are going to play Getitinthemixerham I'd plump for Vic but I'm not sure he should be automatically first name on the team sheet against every team.

Except Morgan will be gone in January and Big Vic can be very hit and miss (as shown last night) Cork is Mr reliable and football is a squad game our squad would be worse without him.

hell I'd have Puncheon back in a heartbeat can't see him having much of future with Warnock there.

a few PL teams having problems tonight I See West brom couldn't score past a 10man oxford (Oxford scoring both goals) and are now in a penalty shoot out. Leicester lost to Shrewsbury as well.

It would seem odd if Cork was leaving that we would play him instead of Taider who clearly isn't leaving and would need game time.....
