I figured it was more that we played a high line against a team well known for playing counter attack football last season. Some managers would looked to have counter that but apparently poch didn't even bother to discuss the opposition with the team before games and so we just played are normal game.

I really hope the club hold firm on this one. Far to many players have been calling the shots this summer time for the club to put their foot down even if means Morgan seeing out his contract in the development squad. I suspect that he will be forced to stay this summer and be gone in the Jan transfer window.

Don't be sad I'm not. I came to terms with saints place in the football world a long time ago. It's only the last few seasons of relative success that seem to have given some of our fan base Delusions of Grandeur.

Well I'm going and looking forward to it the end of the day I go to watch 11 vs 11 on the pitch who ever those 11 are wearing saints shirts they get my support....

Is Van dijk even that good? why would we make Jose who has two years of PL experince and played very well last year third choice behind a guy from celtic.

No sign of that happening though. My gut is Morgan has been told he can leave in Jan, if he plays nice, by which time the team will be more settled and we will have the chance to bed in a replacement (hence all the midfielders we are being linked with)

The club have said Morgan will not be sold this summer. They can't go back on that with looking like right numpties so Morgan will be here when the season starts IMO............ of course in January he can go and the club have been true to their word.

On the other hand looking at the score over two legs do we actually want Forster and van Dijk

Seems like a decent deal to me get rid of Osvaldo and get in another player to bolster our paper thin squad. Would really have liked to see a CB instead of another midfielder but as I'm I expecting Morgan to be off in January anyway this could just be good forward planning.

We're in a rebuilding season. Hopefully this summer will never be repeated and, though we will always loose players to the big boys, we won't loose so many in one window again. With that in mind 12th we'd be an execllent season for us after the summer we've injuried hpeful followed by a summer of stable rebuilding next year.

Oh there has been a lot of that this summer for sure. Most of the club statements use words like "we want", "we hope", "we don't want" and "it is our intention" which people read as meaning something else more in line with their own views.

What again? Surely he covered everything last week? Is this the "ooops we need to sell Morgan after all" interview?

This For a club like saints just staying up is basically success. Of course we all want to finish as high possible but really PL survival (ideally with a good cup run thrown in) has to be the aim every season.
