So you think they should sell Morgan yes or no?

So what they should just let the fire burn? The club has to lay down a marker somewhere. I'm sure it sucks for Morgan and his dream move to spurs but just because we've let players go already no reason to just let the rest leave.

So they shouldn't be firm now? You think the damage is done and they should let everyone else leave because they have let others leave? It's weird how the posters who have been most upset about the player sales now seem to think we should let Morgan walk because we already let some other leave?

Doesn't mean they have to accept it. I thought you were one of the people saying the club should put their foot down with want away players?

The club really can't win can they? if they put their foot down they are being unfair to the player. If they let the player go they are incompetent. WTF are they supposed to do?

Didn't Ralph say the players wanted a quick route to the CL?

So Morgan had already been told he wasn't going to get his move before Ralphs interview?

As far as I'm aware not one player has left us for a smaller club or less wages both are quite good indicators of why they all want out. Now If Morgan was pushing for his dream move to Wigan I'd figure there was more to it but seeing as all of the players want to leave for clubs with European football, offering bigger wages it's hardly a surprise.

It is only a PR disaster if we now sell one of the two players this summer. I mean if the club have decided enough is enough and won't sell anyone else aren't they giving the fans what they want ....... even if it means Morgan training on his own and not playing.

The club don't even have to hold their nerve for that long Ralph said this summer so both players can be sold in Jan with no come back on the club.

Surely the club have now put down a line they can't cross? the Chairman has guaranteed on national radio that Morgan and J won't be sold how can they back track on that with out looking complete mugs? Looks like we might get to find out what happens when a want away player is forced to stay...........

Only a complete moron would guarantee live on radio that two players will not be sold if he thought there was any chance of them being sold...................wouldn't they? To be honest I was sceptical that any club would risk buying J-rod in his current condition but I had pretty much come to terms with Morgan leaving but the club have painted themselves into a corner now they can't sell either player (at least until January) without bringing down a s hitstorm.

Maybe FFP was the day the dream died........

So we would have only been able to bring in players who would work for free or very small wages? Basically we could afford to buy players but FFP would stop us paying them with out us breaching FFP?

Prehaps this is the finanical problems the board alluded to after NC left everyone assumed it was debt maybe is was more to with unsustainable contracts and wages?

Doesn't do much for the clubs bargining postion with regards to sales though. If we did want players with difficult contracts off our books telling everyone would make it hard to get any decent cash of buyers (and I think we've done pretty well with cash coming in) if they thought we were desperate.

Well technically he didn't he said "We want to keep" and "our intention". which isn't the same as "We won't sell". The club might have wanted to keep the players the players had other ideas.

Well having seen the success of a fan run club down the other end of the M27 clearly the way to go is to have saintsweb run the club. We could run a poll on here about each decision that running a club requires. If you all send £10,000 to my PO box number in Bermuda I'll start sorting it out............

Why are people convinced NC would have made a better job of it? I see no evidence for this other than a vague collective idea that NC was some sort of scary hardman. In fact the only time NC was in a vaguely comparable position the player went to ............Arsenal

Except English football isn't about ticket sales anymore is it? there is more money to be made showing it on TV to hordes of SE Asians.
