What points to that? All the pre-season vids I have seen suggest those players wanting to stay (or just joined) are still happy and committed and enjoying the new management.

Does he need to be as good as Luke Shaw to get into our team? I can't understand why people would right Targett off because he is not Luke Shaw.

I guess Billy would be the ideal example of why moving to a club with ambition doesn't always go well for the player. Billy would have probably been better off staying at Donny where he would have probably become a club legend.

Shaw is one hell of a player perhaps the best LB in the PL the only part of his game that lets him down is his final ball when getting forward (I think I saw he had 1 assist last season). Having said that we don't need to have the best LB in the PL just a good one If Targett can be as good as chambers or JWP he will still be a decent addition to the team.

Pelle looks ****ing huge in that match video a right unit. I know the quality of the opposition isn't up to much but a lot of our youngsters are looking good in these pre-season games.

Poor old Rickie leaving at just the wrong time* reckon he would have thrived on that sort of game think he struggled a bit with mopos style which made him less effective last season. *With usual caveats he was past it, wanted to go to his spiritual home etc etc

While we've lost some good players there is still a good amount of last seasons team still here (including a very good central midfield) add to that Koeman who is giving me the impression he is quitely confident and knows what he is about I'm feeling pretty relaxed about next season. As yet I don't see most of the teams who finished below us strengthening that much (Hull and prehaps WHU aside) so most of them aren't likely to be much better (and I reckon WBA are screwed) than last season. I can't see us being relegation fodder at all next season, we might not finish as high in the table next season but I still think we will be in around mid table with a couple more addition to the front and back of the team.

TBF Jos was excellent in our championship year he would be a good signing for a team at that level.

Actually I'd say the opposite with J-rod as we have no idea whether A) he will recovery properly B) if he does whether he will re-find his old form. Had we offered him a nice bumper 5 year contract and never recovers to be the same player we'd be chucking good money after bad.

Good news his goal record seems impressive. I know people keeping saying the Dutch league is carp but are teams like Ajax and Fc Twente really worse than Stoke and Burnley? Saw in the paper that (allegedly) Man U are now looking at Wolfsburg's LB Ricardo Rodriguez as well............ looks like Luke might have some competition for his place at Man U.
