  1. Yep they look short of confidence and disorganised...if we go down lets go down fighting
  2. Personally I've never hidden my dislike of the PL rather be in the football league all the way... But do really think NC isn't bothered about us being relegated from the PL and losing all that it entails having worked so hard to get here? If things don't improve quickly I just can't see Nigel not getting the sack. Do I want him sacked? No but I'm big enough understand that is how modern football works.
  3. Easy to say when you're not a chairman looking at losing 60+ million in PL money if we get relegated. Nigel has been great for us I'd love him to turn it round and lead us to glories over the next how ever many years........ but If I was NC losing all that PL cash would be playing on my mind a great deal.
  4. That's right its all the fans fault...that is your favorite theme after all. Did the fans change the defense and keeper? Do the fans hire and fire managers? Was it the fans decsion to show "loyalty" to players like Sharp and Hammond? Do the fans make the signings?
  5. I like this bit from that article Southampton hardly splashed the cash in the summer, or sign players with proven Premier League experience, but they did add to their squad for the top flight. 30 million isn't splashing the cash:scared:
  6. mmmm quite a few of our players from the prevoius couple of seasons got no loyalty from the club....
  7. Think I'll wait untill he is gone first......
  8. Well we do I just wonder how much cash is left after spunking 30 million+ in the summer. Is there enough for 'Arry "pass the enevlope under the table Mr agent man" Redknapp to work his cheque book magic?
  9. ummm not so sure even last night the saints fans were singing in support of Nigel safe to say Harry won't get that...
  10. Redknapp would probably work as a short term solution but he will want cash to spend in Jan .... biggest problem is there is a sizeable part of the fanbase who think he is a c unt and I'm not sure a divided fan base with boos ringing around SMS would help our plight much..
  11. Maybe NC noticed the standing ovation WGS got at the Coventry game end of last season.....If you were to get rid of a very popular manager might pay to replace him with someone popular with the fans..... Though for what it's worth I think WGS would be a step back....much as I like him. If Nigel goes I'm really expecting a replacement out of leftfield. A foriegn coach no one would have thought of........I reckon.
  12. 4-4-2 might have worked with Lambert and Sharp and two proper pacy wingers slinging in crosses. I'm not even sure the formation is the problem so much as the chopping and changing of the formation the players don't seem to know what the hell they are suppossed to be doing half the time. Now the confidence and team spirit that was a big part of our success the last few seasons seems to be gone as well. I think we just need to go back to basics find a formation that the players are comfortable with and work on being hard to beat.
  13. He was the same at the beginning of our second season in League 1 ...he was carrying an injury then and was unfit ....new manager turned him round.
  14. Drink...girls....feck
  15. Actually we did invade what would become Argentina in 1806 and occupied Buenos Aires for 46 days:D http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_invasions_of_the_R%C3%ADo_de_la_Plata
  16. Interesting whispering Dave on solent seemed to think that Jose and Yoshida were awful together and not covering or communicating with each other all night. He did say though that the rest of the team are giving the defence no help at all.
  17. I wasn't exactly expecting much especially when we didn't replace Fox....but I didn't expect us to be this bad either I expected us to battle hard and get outplayed by some good teams but we're not showing many signs of battling most teams aren't even having to work very hard to beat us. Maybe we got rid of the battlers and leaders from the last few seasons and replaced them with technically better players who lack guts ......
  18. The examples cited seem to show anyone we had a war with counts as an invasion on that basis ww2 would count. I suppose Burma was part of the Japanese empire after they took it off us so when we took back we had technically invaded the Japenese empire...tenous:lol:
  19. Prehaps a more acurate title would have been "Countries the British have got a bit narked with"
  20. Problem is apart from the second half against Villa we haven't exactly been doing that well against the PL's lesser sides so far this season have we? Wigan, Fulham, Westham were all more than a match for us. The tough start has helped to cover up these results and a lot of people seem to be banking on us making up ground against the lesser teams in the league despite the fact so far we haven't performed very well against the ones we have played. If anything the performances (arsenal aside) have been better against the big teams like cieth, man U and spurs than they have against the lesser sides.
  21. Hedge End Rangers....
  22. interesting article on Ajax and Frank De Boer here http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19985608 They have the similair problems as us with regards to youth. Think Ajax would be a good model for saints to try and follow We have to be creative," De Boer explained. "Normally we have to get players when they are 16. At 18 or 19 it is already too late. "Our philosophy is that we want about 70% of our first team to have come from our own youth academy. It is our lifeline to survive against bigger clubs, and if we hit that 70% mark then it shows that doing it our way is working. "We don't spend money if we can help it. We look at the youth teams first and have a policy of giving a chance to our own, rather than trying to sign a player from outside that we have to pay four or five million euros for."
  23. Deno's first (well only) goal of the season against Leeds first game of last season. Papa Waigos unveiling at SMS.......... doing keep ups in a suit and nice shoes before running to the Northam for a dance..... In fairness Wagio was class all through the JPT games that season
  24. yeah I know hence "taken from another thread" thought it was more relevant to this thread.....
  25. Taken from another thread. If this is true (big if) it puts a whole new slant on the situation IMO. Somone did act desicively at the end of last season to stop Nigel walking away If it is true (again big if) I would suggest NA's job is pretty safe.... This was posted on saintslist - it's a members site that you need to join to view I don't usually pass on gossip or rumour unless I am more than 50% sure there is some truth involved, but I have just heard something that stacks up and I am inclined to believe it, but would be grateful that if this is passed on my fingerprints are removed. Do you all remember how strange Adkins was after the last home game v Coventry? Well, I have heard this evening he intended to resign soon after the final whistle for two reasons. His relationship had/has broken down completely with Cortese, in fact he "hates" him and so, with his reputation intact, resignation made professional sense rather than hang on and it all come to tears ( in the Premiership and his reputation lessened). Someone talked him out of it, probably Les Reed. Now you can believe this or not but it does explain why he was saying some strange things that Sunday evening http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group...message/114999
