Assists are a terrible stat because it relies on another player. A player can do all the hard work to set the chance up but if the guy trying to score can't finish ( not exactly an uncommon occurrence in our team) it counts for nothing. Chances created is probably a much better stat to basis things on. Obefami's assist for example only came out of Redmond's hard work and dribbling skills. His shooting is poor though he should be scoring more.

Defence looks errrggh. Having said that I've gone through every variation of defence I can think of, in my mind, with the players we have available and I really can't come up with one combination that doesn't make think "oh ****" that's bad. I do like what I've seen of Valery can't see him being picked over Cedric but maybe Ralph will surprise me.

Do you think Cardiff will go as easy on us as Spurs did last night? I have a feeling Cardiff's players won't be going into second gear in the second half like spurs did.

As much as I'm happy and excited to see what the new man can do. I'm not expecting to much on the results front early doors its going to take a lot of work to bring his favoured style of football to the hopeless mess that is our squad and I'm not sure some of the players will ever be able to manage it. I think a draw for this one sadly.

Maybe we should ask Glasgow to mentor him so at least he can get the basics right..

We only created chances because spurs where coasting along in first gear with the game all sown up. If we had shown any sign of getting into the game they would have gone up a couple of gears and smashed us. As it was this was a nice easy game for them after some tough fixtures and with big games coming up...spurs probably haven't had an easier games than the one tonight all season.

yes I think there is a good chance... our strike force is crap and our defence even worse. The new manager looks promising but he has a pretty poor squad to work with if he can make them into a pacey, attacking, high press, goal scoring and solid at the back side he is one hell of a coach.

My Son used to play with Christian Norton at Hedge End Rangers he was a bit of a unit back then being the same size as most of the dads when the rest of the lads where still boys he used to absolutely batter most of the lads in Tyro good to see him scoring and doing well.

I hope training camps is the only thing he likes to spy on with binoculars it would be pretty embarrassing to have the new manager caught in some bushes in a back garden in Shirley....

First the players and manager have to become good enough for the big six to actually want them.. The new guy looks good on paper but I think its a bit early to worry about him being poached already.
