  1. yep agree finally looking like the player I thought we were getting when we signed him. I guess being dropped last season gave him a big kick up the arse. Also the improvement does seem more down to Redmond than the managers. He had improved massively even before Ralph turned up but now the rest of the team are playing better Redmond is finally getting some reward for his performances.
  2. Great result. Ralph is like ****ing Gold Finger the man with the Midas touch two games in a row where his subs worked to perfection seems like a long time since that happened.
  3. The lads that played last saturday against Arsenal deserve to start after a result and performance like that. Also its forces those three, especially the two full backs who have been coasting due to lack of competition for a while now, to work harder and up their game in training to get back in the team. Just letting them waltz back into the starting 11 sends out the wrong signal.
  4. Valery is ****ed then....
  5. I'd probably pick which ever one worked the hardest in training, had the most impact in games and brought into my philosophy the most wholeheartedly between now and Jan. Judging by press reports it looks like that's going to be Austin.....
  6. I'm not sure players getting upset about bottles, bananas and coins being thrown at them is hypersensitivity to be honest.
  7. I think we'd all agree problem is no one wants our **** players we will only get offers for the good ones and we all know what the club gets like when they smell profit.
  8. not so sure aren't they in some issues with regards to FFP?
  9. Oh ****... Lem-me go Southampton star Mario Lemina part of PSG five-man shortlist to replace Adrien Rabiot Saints midfielder could be on his way to Ligue 1 with the Parisien giants set to launch an audacious £30million bid https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/8019335/southampton-lemina-psg-transfer-rabiot/
  10. Yeah very much a defender. Dribbling did seem to be a skill he hasn't quite mastered. Having said that towards the end of the Arsenal game he put in some great tackles and blocks and was more than happy to put the ball into row z when needed.
  11. He gives us free beer, He gives us free beer, Ralph Hasenhuttl, He gives us free beer.
  12. Yeah highlights of ever game are on the O/S with Solent commentary you have to register to watch them though
  13. No clearly not after two games but then Man Utd have been quite clear they aren't appointing a new manager until the summer they will carry on with a caretaker until then.... ...not they will want Ralph in the summer either.
  14. Club Legend Sparky Hughes surely?
  15. I'm not to worried about Ralph apparently when Bayern approached him about being their manager he said he wasn't ready for a big club so I doubt he feels he has developed enough to taking on Man U. Anyway Man U wouldn't consider him a big enough name for them anyway.
  16. Surely man u will go for club legend Mark Hughes now he is available.
  17. Man U statement says they will appoint a caretaker until the end of the season while they search for a replacement....6 months of tapping up Poch I reckon.
  18. Walcott, Bale, Shaw, Ox all good enough and people at the club knew it so they got into the team without much experience. Coaches/ manager know if they have a special youth player on their hands.
  19. Just looking on their forum I thought we were a pessimistic lot http://downatthemac.proboards.com/thread/111024/bring-on-saints?page=1 Highlight was one of them wishing they had quality like Austin and Long to come off the bench ....
  20. If you are good enough you are old enough if any of our youth players are better than our first team player in that position most managers would pick them. There is a tendency to among fans to overstate the ability of our youth. Valery has come in and done a job but he isn't as good as Cedric if Cedric is playing to his best level. In the end you want your best players on the pitch its not and never has been about giving youth a chance just for the sake of it.
  21. Amazing what a win does. I can't wait for this game to come round which hasn't really been the case most of this season. Having said that I'm on a pre-Christmas family visit for this one so will be trying to get sneaky updates on my phone.
  22. I've only seen Valery against Man U and Arsenal didn't disgrace himself in either game ( though I understand he was poor at Cardiff). He seems better defensively than he does going forward from what I've seen. I've always thought Cedric gets forward well in attack but is usually let down be his final ball. The way we played yesterday though, if Ralph can get Cedric's crossing up to snuff, I'd play Cedric.
  23. Got a little mention in the Guardians 10 talking points article. https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2018/dec/17/premier-league-10-talking-points-football#img-1
  24. If we can keep the level of the 1st half performance up for the rest of the season we might well stay up. I doubt we will beat any of the top six again this season but playing like we did yesterday should see us pick up a lot more points from the other sides in yye league All depends if the players can keep the energy levels and fitness to play like that week in week out.
  25. I think it was Nigel who used to say "Hard work wins when talent doesn't work hard" that was us yesterday. I've had no illusions about the quality of the squad in recent seasons and knowing that I wanted to see the squad compensate with hard work and a game plan the players understood and for the first time in a long time I saw that at SMS. Finally left SMS with a smile on my face that hasn't happened in a while....
