  1. You're right two I counted Rochdale which of course was 2 games before Nigel took over.
  2. This isn't a Nigel bash but I really wonder were that myth comes from, it's kind of like the we never do well on telly or always lose when the other team has a new manager lines. Last season we came from behind to win 9 times (all comps) this season we came from behind to win 7 times (all comps) we only lost at SMS 5 times last season (twice 2PL teams) this season under Nigel we lost three times at home (1 to a PL team) SMS has been a bit of fortess since we came down to league 1 really. The main difference this season under Nigel has been less draws more than anything.
  3. The way the WHU owners tried replace Grant behind his back with the whole O'Neill thing. I wouldn't be surprised if Grant got them relegated on purpose just to flick'em the finger
  4. Not married then? My wife is already thinking about all the DIY,shopping and gardening she can get me to do now I don't have an excuse on saturdays.................
  5. I like the bit about "just carrying on doing what they've been doing" I assume Lee means sitting in the treatment room? Apparently visiting Derby next season will be massive for him.......I assume Derby have a really nice treatment room that he is looking forward to trying out again? I'm not sure why we would hang on to him the few times he has been fit enough to play he has hardly set the world on fire. Having said that he does take a decent corner.
  6. According to the beeb West ham are looking to get a new manager in place in the next couple of weeks Former England coach Steve McClaren is the bookmakers' favourite. First-team coach Kevin Keen has been placed in temporary charge and is second-favourite alongside ex-Newcastle manager Chris Hughton. I suppose that will give more idea of how they're planning for next season.
  7. As for west ham the table doesn't lie they are the worst team in PL this season, doesn't mean the same team with the right manager couldn't be a very good team next season, It all depends on if they can keep hold of players.
  8. Wow you are focusing way to much on this. Losing to pompey really hurt you didn't it? The jump up from legaue 1 to the championship is far smaller than champ to prem. The skates had the worst team in the PL that season we had a team arguably good enough for the championship last season and yet despite us battering them for 70 minutes they still ran out 4-1 winners becuase they had PL players with PL pace. My only point here is even poor PL players are still decent players. I'm making no comparsions about how well we or pompey will do next year only that if (and as you point out it is a big if) West ham keep the bulk of their current team together they will be a decent team. Will it happen I don't know and as yet probably no one does.
  9. In fairness he was getting that when he was playing for us, maybe it would unsettle him more to get cheered and roundly clapped.
  10. How is it irrelevant? I merely used it as an example of us playing a bottom of (at the time) the PL team (which is what west ham are) with a team that contained several of our current side (Who will be playing championship next season) and lost 4-1. The whole point was to illustrate the bottom of the PL players are still good players especially in the champ If west ham keep most of their current crop of players they will be contenders next season. The current pompey team or our team in the future has no bearing on what I was saying.
  11. Does it matter? we might of dominated them for 70 mins they Won 4-1. My point still stands even poor PL players are going to be good enough to be a force in the championship If west ham keep their team together they will be a threat.
  12. Good hopefully they'll do a Sheffield Wednesday next season Does anyone think will get a new member called Tartan Hammer signing up next season?.
  13. You could almost be describing the ManU game this season The truth is the pace pompey had upfront had was way to much for our tired defence it just showed the difference between poor PL players and good league one players.
  14. Surely it all depends on if they keep the team together? even a bottom of the table PL team isn't exactly bad. Remember how bottom of the table pompey ripped us apart last season. Still if the money situation is as bad as everyone is saying then the team is most likely to be dismantled.
  15. Not really the place to get into this but I don't see how gassing Ethiopians is any different to gassing Jewish people.......
  16. Yes becuase using a symbol favoured by Italian fascists like Il Duce (a Lazio fan by all accounts) is so much better than one favoured by German fascists ...........
  17. Really? according to some on here most of them aren't even good enough for the championship let alone the PL.
  18. Player at wanting to play at a higher level shocker, I assume AOC is all so a bad'un as his dad wants him to move on to play at the highest level. The days of local lads playing all their football lives at a local club are long gone (if indeed they ever exsisted at all).
  19. I'm actually looking forward to having lower expectations again, this season I really thought we could be champions and the expectations made me a miserable wrist slasher. Next season I'll be on here saying we're in a play off place thats really great while others demanding a Norwich like season will be getting all moody that we're not going up autos.
  20. Surely this all comes down to expectations of the individual? If you thought at the start of the season we'd be lucky to make the play offs you'd be really happy with this season. If you thought we'd by 20pts ahead of the rest of the league by christmas you'd feel a bit let down. Same with the season before under AP. Regardless of the clubs aims all of us have our own ideas of what makes a good or bad season. Take me for example Last season under AP I expected a relegation battle I got a cup final and seventh for me a good season. This season I expected us to smash the league up and get promoted as champions I got promotion, good but a little dissapointed we weren't champs. Next season top half finish and beat pompey twice is what I'm hoping for how I rate the season will depend on what happens. You're all starting out with different expectations so it's no surprise you all have different ideas about how Nigel has done.
  21. But wouldn't they have the option to pay monthly too? People are less likely to have the option to pay up front but if you can afford to pay up front you could (most likely) afford to pay monthly if you were bothered. I'll pay up front for my ST (assuming the prices aren't totally over the top) and really couldn't care less if the guy next to me pays monthly.
  22. On the other hand a football club has a very finite number of customers, if you put off those customers you don't have more waiting in the wings the same way an insurance company does. Is it worth a football club taking a small hit on tickets to make up the money on match day catering, merchindsing and such like? I don't know the answer but it must be a fine line for football clubs between milking every last penny out of the fans and putting said fans off and losing revenue.
  23. Where did you get that from? Did Nigel mention it an interview? Just interested to know where all the stuff about puncheon came from.
  24. See this is the sort of thing I'm talking about were does this info come from? Has anyone spoken to Puncheon and got this from the horses mouth? Has anyone at SFC ever said this? Or is it all assumption and hearsay.
  25. In that case please do not ask any more team members for an autograph ............ except Forecast,Holmes and Pulis
