  1. I agree entirely. The UK and I daresay most of the world see America as one country. The UNITED states of America. Unfortunately when the American constitution was written one of the main objectives was to ensure that states still had their own rights and the power of central government was restricted. Hence Montana and North Dakota have the same number of senators as California and New York. There are restrictions on what the federal government can do and individual states still have great power. Despite what the rest of the world thinks the country is not United. I can see the country splitting in two. Progressive states like California and the New England states will go their own way. The country may still be called the USA but it will be far from United.
  2. So Johnson refuses to answer, when asked at PMQs today, whether he considered giving his then bit on the side, glorious Carrie, a £100k job. Unbelievable. The bloke is a complete and utter scumbag. He is a disgrace to his associates, to the Conservative party and above all to the nation.
  3. Perhaps Carrie has made him have the snip.
  4. The great thing is that he never won a Parliamentary election.
  5. You are going to have to supply details. No mention of it if I Google. Are you sure it isn't fake news??

    Rail Strike

I also understand that he uses the names Alex Law 76 and Batman and Delldays 😁😁
  7. The Twitterati have let you down on this one. Name the EU countries which have sent refugees to Rwanda.
  8. I think that the majority of the country would agree with you. He has for example been rejected by the voters on the 7 occasions when he has tried to enter Westminster. Ironically his dodgy business practices and his Brexit party funding would make him at home in Johnson's government. Undoubtedly he is a good PR man. His record number of appearances on QT (the BBC is of course a left wing organisation 😁) were ideal for him to demonstrate this ability. It's just a pity that the country now has to pay for his folly.
  9. From memory, his wedding, which took place around the time of his spell with us, turned into a mass brawl with lobster thermidor being thrown around. Scousers - eh.
  10. Oh. I am sorry. I assumed that your commitment to "no insults" was over after the crude insult that you came out with today. I didn't appreciate that you are going for the Hypocrite of the year award. Or are you just too thick to understand what you are writing?
  11. Thanks for proving that the rules on the use of an ellipsis are not established. I quote from the conclusion in your second attachment "Different style guides have different rules and if you disagree that's fine." Thanks for proving that your argument is typical Piggy bollocks.
  12. No impending crisis but Johnson was due to address the Red Wall MP's at a conference today. We know from the no confidence vote that most backbenchers don't like him and many of the Red Wall are likely to be out of a job after the next election. At least going to Ukraine to avoid meeting them sounds better than hiding in a fridge.
  13. Nothing wrong with that. You shouldn't start a sentence with "but" but that wasn't a new sentence. 😁
  14. I see that Mosin 's distaste for impolite posts hasn't lasted long...but he is still ignorant of grammar (your 😁). I wonder why Brexiteers are called thick. 😁😁😁
  15. Any chance of you telling us bitter, arrogant people a few of the benefits that have come from Brexit?

    Russia

Good spot but I am sure that our friend Alex can find a tweet from some Russian bot that claims that the Russian economy is booming.
  17. In the 5 or so years before the Brexit vote the pound used to trade normally in the range of $1.55 / $1.60. The Brexit decision meant that foreign investors could see the damage to the economy to be caused by Brexit and the pound has weakened. In the last year it has only momentarily risen above $1.40 and for most of the time since Brexit it has been in the $1.20 / $1.35 range. Oil is priced in dollars. A weaker pound means that we pay more for our petrol than would have been the case before June 2016. Even allowing for the tax element of the price of petrol , just due to currency weakness everyone has been paying at least 4; pence more for every litre of petrol that they have bought over the last 6 years. The current price would be c 10 -15 pence per litre cheaper if the pound was at $1.55 instead of current levels. But at least we "got our country back". Not sure that it is worth it.
  18. Stories of the economy contracting after Brexit are just "Project Fear".

    Russia

Because despite what you said, the land controlled by Russia is only half the size of the UK - not "many times".

    Russia

Thanks. The trouble is that our friend Alex will not admit that he is wrong. He will now just skulk away and come back in a few days time quoting some obscure Twitter poster that apparently shows that the Russians are invincible. Some people never learn from their mistakes and misunderstandings.

    Russia

"Vast swathes" ... et I don't think so. Have you seen a map of Ukraine? Why do you downplay the cost to Russia of their invasion? Cost economically, militarily, diplomatically and the cost to their reputation world wide. I would suggest that the cost to Russia of the small amount that they have gained dwarfs the cost to the western world of defending Ukraine.
  22. True but no need for Labour to panic just yet. The next election is 2 years away and the fact that Labour have a lead in the polls considering where they were after the last election is encouraging for them. The longer that the fat clown stays in power the more damage that he does to the Conservative brand. If he stays until the next election I daresay that Basil Brush could win the election for Labour.
  23. If you read any of the mid game comments in matches where Obafemi played you will know that he is utter crap and is stealing a living as a footballer - along with many others in our team. Now he has left and scored for Ireland he is the next Messi.
  24. In addition to gun control laws, weak environmental protection and a crazy legal system , there is also this batshit hanging over the country. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2022/jun/10/donald-trump-storming-capitol-democracy-6-january?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other
  25. Apparently he would have done worse than Theresa May did in her no confidence vote if there are more than 133 votes against him. She only lasted s few months after that. If there are more than 133 votes against him, he really is a dead man walking. Not quite sure how abstentions fit into that scenario.
