I am not sure if this explains his appalling performance yesterday but perhaps he needs time out of the team so he can do whatever he should have done in pre season. I do not want to see his name on the team sheet for the Boro match .

At the Preston match there will be 4 generations of Tamesaints. With my 93 year old father and 14 month old granddaughter we could have the youngest and oldest supporters in thr stadium.

One of the things that I do like atm is the way that we have got rid of so many of last year's regulars. In addition to the 4 that you mention we won't be seeing Bednarek, TP, Sulemana, Big Les in the team. Add (Probably) BBD, Smallbone and Aribo to that list and the potential for "scar tissue" to blight this season is greatly reduced.

And with the profit from Dibling, Fernandes , Smallbone etc and the dropping of the 2022 transfer window we will be able to piss on PSR.

I went to Liverpool University just after he finished his degree. He was often still seen at the university. The story was his departmental football team got to the final of the university departmental cup. Fellow students wanted him to play for the department in the final but TD told him that he would be finished in football if he dared to play. In the end he compromised and played in goal. They won.

Can see Taylor staying. He provides cover at left back if Welington's ankle proves to be a problem and may well be preferable to Manning if Manning forgets to close down crosses.

It is disappointing how those youngsters who formed such a good team had their heads turned so quickly. I remember the squad being paraded round the ground just before they appeared in a youth final. Was it due to agents, greedy parents, lack of a perceived pathway or just heads being turned by the prospect of £££? There was a video on here of JJM standing with Everton away supporters flicking V's at home fans. Without wanting to sound too much like an old fogey, it is a shame how few of the players felt any loyalty to the club that nurtured them.
