I think it is best to take the advice of Pingpong. Nic is clearly suffering from some mental health issues. It is probably best for him if his nutty views are ignored and the rest of the forum do not engage with him. It may also rescue a decent thread which is spiralling towards nonsense.

After all of the mud slinging the action starts tonight. What do people think will happen? My predictions for what they are worth are : England win the series 3 2. Root silences his critics with a century. Steve Smith is no longer the dominant force with the bat. Cameron Greene is eventually dropped after failing once too often. Gus Atkinson proves to be England's best bowler. Come back in 7 weeks time and have a good laugh at these.

I want somebody better than Tonda. I guess that this means an experienced manager who has been successful in the past and can give out weii deserved kicks up the arse to certain players. BUT What happens in the next few weeks if it turns out that Tonda is a really good manager? What happens if in a few years he is regsrded in the same light as say Pochettino? So far he has won 2 matches against weak teams but Blackburn, Derby and Swansea were weak teams and we didn't beat any of them. I can see the merit in giving him a bit longer in charge. If he can get 9 (or maybe 7) points in the next 3 games he will deserve a spell in charge to at least the end of the season.

I thought that this was THB - not JS. Still's downfall started at Hull. Awful performance from the team so Still dropped THB and co for the next match. Saintsweb applauded the move but clearly the Billy big bollocks in the team didnt. Toys out of the pram time.

At the beginning of this week I was afraid that we were going to see Selles Mark2 appointed. A typical SR attempt at proving that they are so clever. I am now not so sure that Tonda would be a disaster. Today I saw a team that was organised and played good football. For once there seemed to be a game plan and Azaz and Fellows started to show some of their pre Saints form. It was also nice to see an academy player come on at half time. I think that we could do better than Tonda. If nothing else his Baz obsession is a worry. If, however, SR decide to appoint him we may not have Selles mark 2 on our hands.

I reckon the match at Hull caused Still to lose the dressing room. Downes already had an "anti anyone except RM" club going before then and Archer joined it after being dropped for DD for that game. DD then missed a really good chance and didn't cover himself in glory. Still rang the changes after Hull. Everyone on Saintsweb seemed to support the dropping of Baz, Mads, THB and Stephens but I bet this upset the egos of these delicate flowers. All it then took were some crazy substitions at Derby and at Blackburn and the dressing room would be singing "you don't know what you 're doing". God knows how a new manager sorts this out but I think the line up at QPR is going to be interesting.

Lets try something different and buy a rookie centre forward from the German second division. In the same way they didn't go for a manager who knew the league, the players and what was required to get promotion like Coouper. Why not get a Will Still? Their reckless gambling is ruining our club.

Apparently there is a 26 year old whizz kid currently managing in the third division of the Azerbijan league who has just won 3 matches in a row. Unlike our current manager he also has a nice beard. Sounds ideal for SR.

Spent the last 2 days today in the "warzone" of Portland. Nothing unusual going on here. Has the feel of a European rather than American city. Some posh bits. Some scruffy. Lots of pride flags. Excellent beer (70 breweries 😋). People here seem quite laid back. If Trumpy boy thinks it needs the troops to keep order he is even more deluded than I previously thought.

Yeah. Lets sack another manager and appoint our 5th in 11 months. When he fails let's get another one in. Probably in February. And then another until the end of the season and then another for next season . Let's make Watford seem normal. Its clear to me that this team requires a decent centre forward. Not some rookie. It needs a leader with some experience. Probably at centre half but not Stephens. It did not need Azaz, Scienza and Fellows to join Robinson and Fraser in trying to play the same 2 positions in the team. It needs the academy to produce players ready for the first team ideally centre forwards who can act as target men. These needs are out of the control of the manager. Until they are sorted out by SR I do not think that any manager will succeed at Saints. Sack Still if we want to but I would not be holding my breath in expecting the new manager to improve things.

I am currently in the USA. We tend to come over every year about this time. (convenient with the international break). Since we were here last year GBP has strengthened by over 6% yet I am astounded by how expensive things now cost here. Fuel, groceries and eating out are all more expensive than they were this time last year. No idea if this is due to tariffs, world events or internal factors. I am unsure of the official rate of inflation but the Donald's claims that US inflation is now dead is complete bs.

Nearly half of those players have only been in the building for 5 weeks and several of them have been away for international breaks. No wonder we play like a bunch of individuals rather than a team. Last season we were unbelievably shite. Really shite. Whoever took us on had a heck of a task. We need to get better but I think we are improving. Lets give him time and not do a Watford and look for our 5th manager in less than 10 months.
