Let's hope so. So assuming £50m Premier League money goes on wages and new training ground, (hope that's not entirely the case but someone else can do the debts and running costs maths!).... In: £18m for Banana. (Taking away Bournemouths fee) + £4m for SRL + £20m for Lovren + £15m Osvaldo + £30m for Shaw. Not anticipating any others to go this summer.... Total cash = £87m (-£11m) = £76m to go to buy x2 Strikers, Centre Back, Left Back, GK.... Minimum. Plus cover for Fox and an impact sub from midfield akin to Puncheon. Strikers: £20m Centre Back: £15m Left Back: £10m GK: £10m Cover/impact men £15m = £70m Doable! Although this swag is based on fees for risky players and the odd Osvaldo who fails to settle unlike my last estimate! £80 odd million ambitious enough for the likes of Lovren and Spider-Man?! Hell yeah! -
I'd like to see him come back and be given another chance, but we should be able to replace him with £15m transfer fee and still have change in our pocket.

New Keeper Clyne Fonte New Centre Back New Left Back Schneiderlin © Wanyama Cork Tadic New Striker New Striker Bench: From: Boruc, Sharp, Yoshida, Chambers, JWP, S Davies, New Signing (impact sub), New Signing (impact sub), Reid. Injured: Jay Rod. Loaned out: Gallagher. That is my starting line up for a successful season.impact subs. We need a couple of players like Puncheon who can change a game and provide other tactical options. Not necessarily both midfield, but ideally an attacking midfielder plus an attacking left back)

Good news. A replacement for Adam Banana. Now we just need: GK LB LB (reserve vice Fox) CB (for Lovren) Midfield (impact subs x2?) CF (For Lambert) CF (For Osvaldo) 1 down, 8 players to go... -

Is he here yet? -
Great signing. Much as I love Buroc, for me we've always needed a better keeper. Boruc as understudy to Marshall works for me.... And he has experience of a relegation dog fight..... which until we make some ambitious signings may be where we are heading. (odds reduced to 6-1, they were 14-1 at start of WC). But, with these sort of signings.... we're going to be ok.

I hope you're right Steve! We need to win one. -
I'm not surprised. Lovren has done more damage to this club in 24hours than good he did in a year. Hope the Club properly discipline him and we sell him to Pompey.
-
More I read on all the media reports today the more I realise that Lovren has done far more damage to this club than he has good in a whole season. I hope the club throw the book at him. We mustn't allow him to get his way and get to Liverpool.
-
How do you know that? Strikes me the only way we will know the ambition of our ownership and Board will be at the end of the transfer window. I will make my judgment on 1 Sep. meantime they have a few weeks left to show some intent and sack Lovren. Don't sell him to Liverpool - sack him. Make him stay - we don't have to pay a man on strike. Then sell him to the crappiest team we can find for him in Europe that meet our valuation. We will never lose cash on him.
-
We won't know that until the transfer window ends and we take stock of how much we've spent and who we have attracted to join us. Koeman's appointment is very positive, but it should also be noted that he took a team that had to rely on what it had as it had to sell its best players as it needed the cash. He then delivered. Koeman's appointment is not necessarily an indication of Owners and Boardroom ambition. It could be that they brought him in to try and do the same. Therefore all we have is what we've brought in at the end of August as an indicator of ambition. Important few weeks ahead, and so far we have signed nobody, with Tadic reportedly heading for Everton. Tough for Koeman. Schneiderlin is the one ray of light this week - a blatant challenge to our Board to show ambition after talking to Koeman - he's leaving unless they do. So the indicators of ambition are clear: spend the money and retain Schnederlin. We shall see and will know on 1 Sep if MoPo and Lovren were right.
-
We sell Lovren to a European team. We can take the hit.
-
I do not see Everton as a bigger club. I see us as potential equals. They've just had a better board and consistent management over the past few years. Man for man I think our squad is as good. I think Everton over performed.
-
Another reason why Lovren has to be made an example of. Tadic is now rumoured to be snubbing Saints for Everton. Lovrens comments on lack of ambition are undermining the ability of Koeman to tempt players to Saints. Could be linked. We need a VERY strong statement from the club to counter this line tomorrow. The club must (again to be fair) make a strong statement that our ambition remains the same and that all money will go on player sales. We need to make a statement that we are unlikely to sell him to Liverpool. We need to signal potential signings that Lovren is wrong and self oriented. We probably need to expose Liverpool and Lovrens agent too. Time to show steel Reed. Show steel when prodded and fight back.
-
Yep. Morgan has challenged the board to support the manager, demonstrate ambition and kick on. He has demanded they spend the money from transfers AND the £50m from the Premiership. That's ambition, leadership, and a foil that anyone in a higher position needs. Les Reed shouldn't want yes men, but solid professionals with passion. Morgan for Captain. No-brainer. Morgan is the key now. No Morgan means an admission by the Board of no ambition. RoKo at last has a way of making the Board support him.
-
When are people going to realise that Lovren, Lallana and Lambert have all been tapped up and taking instructions directly or indirectly from Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers? Lovren can't stay now after those comments. At some stage the club has to impose some discipline. Lovren has lost Saints fans now and probably the remainder of the team. To be honest his words are as bad if not worse than Lallanas. His criticism of the clubs lack of ambition (which may have an element of truth) is nonetheless disloyal, lacks professionalism (unless he is taking instructions from Liverpool) and frankly is another example of selfishness. So what? Lovren must firstly be disciplined by the club. Secondly, we must not bow down again to Liverpools methods. They have removed our talent and set us back several years already. We must stop doing business with them. I don't care if they are paying over the odds - sooner or later a club has to make a stand. Lovren deserves a shorter entry on the OS than Lallana. We owe Lovren NOTHING. No loyalty, so sell him. But not to Spurs or Liverpool.... If I was Saints I would be looking to send him anywhere but the PL. Contrast Lovrens lines with Scheiderlain, who has challenged the club to show ambition and he will stay... That's captaincy stuff.
-
This is VERY good news if true. My assumption is Koeman is offering him captaincy. But it also sends the clear message to the Board: spend every penny from transfers and Premier a League money or else. Great test of our owner and Board's intent. Over to you Les Reed.
-
Agreed.

Phew. Thank goodness it's not yellow and red. Not bad. Not bad at all.
