  1. Does anyone think he'll be booed? I think he will at St Mary's.
  2. I still don't see what they've done wrong. One liner is all he deserves.they've not criticised him.
  3. Yedlin USA. Cracking against Belgium when given his chance. The sort of impact player from midfield we need. Would cost peanuts too.
  4. I couldn't agree more with this. He's wasting his time taking out an ad in the a Echo too. Whatever he says will be ridiculed. No one will read it as sincere, the lad lacks integrity. And that is a fact.
  5. I think the Club statement is spot on. He deserves nothing from Southampton FC. Engineered his transfer, threatened not to play, destabilised the team and helped break morale amongst his team mates. He has no support from anyone. One day he will regret what he's done. Sorry but, for the first time in 2 weeks the club have done something right.
  6. We are better off without him. Clearly not the professional we thought he was. Total disrespect for our Club, his team mates and us as fans. I can't bring myself to wish him luck. I hope he and Liverpool fail. Difficult to see how he we ever be welcomed back to Saint Mary's. Even as an old man. What a shame.
  7. http://bwinbetting.com/internationals/world-cup-2014/punters-liverpool-man-utd-spurs-southamptons-juicy-relegation-odds,57241.html? Saints becoming a favourite for relegation already.
  8. I'm am getting too emotional. You're right. Guess it's the fear of watching all the same mistakes being made again. Still this time we have Koeman and not Harry... And wads of cash. Perhaps it will be ok. I shall take a chill pill. Apologies to everyone for being too negative. I just care too much.
  9. How is this a perfect world thread? We had months before we needed to sell. And if Liverpool didn't want them at the end of the month so be it. We have made basic errors of judgement so far this summer. Basic.
  10. Player. Not players.
  11. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2675327/Ronald-Koeman-tweets-view-Southampton-training-ground-without-player-sight.html Oh god, now The Mail are taking the **** out of the tweets and exodus. Wait til they hear we are in home made shirts next season.
  12. Correct. It's psychological. I remember when we got a 'proper' strip after the last home made one... It was a buzz. Felt like we were a top club again. Going from top brand to home made just has the opposite effect.
  13. No it was a proper rant! Need some good news.....
  14. I can only base what I see on what before. I am sounding negative. You're right. I need some optimism. I'm sure Reed and Koeman won't disappoint. I look forward to toting up the cost of the players we buy before the end of next month too.... You know, just to see if we spend all our Premier League money AND transfer cash. But, (sigh) you're right. Time to cheer up.... (BTW, Cortese failed to do nothing in November on the shirts. And nothing's been done since!!!!!! What did Koeman order Ice Hockey ones?)
  15. You're right. Trouble is all I see are the same mistakes being made that Lowe did when we finished 8th... One after another. It's like Groundhog Day. And this mistake is just one of them. Always buy your replacements before you sell. Eel pie is right.
  16. We are making our own shirts again? omg. Laughing stock. How the hell do we retain players at the top of their profession dressed in the worst kit in the league? Turn out for saints and have the **** taken out of you by your fellow professionals! Are the Club stupid? We tried this before. It was crap. Top players dressed in home made shirts. We are going down, it's yet another Lowe-ism. Let's compare - finish 8th. Fail to spend money on the team but reinforce the facilities. Lose players. Fail to spend money on the team. Lose a manager due to lack of ambition and ability to advance. Sell the home grown talent. Then buy your own ****ty shirts to make more money, get laughed at by your mates who support teams that wear top company shirts.... What's next? We becoming a plc? Don't tell me? We fail to do well, more players leave, fail to invest again, lose the manager, put in Sammy Lee as a cheap alternative, relegate to League 1. Then, find a new owner after near bankruptcy and a new Cortese. Build up and promote just in time for the World Cup in Qatar......... And make the same mistakes again? WTF? We are being run by amateurs. Making your own shirts?! At least if you're going to kiss the badge before you leave, let it be one without a loose thread. Amateurish. I am giving in.... I can see Southampton City centre full of top quality Liverpool shirted nippas again soon. We are going to become a joke.
  17. Yep. One of the fundamental principles of running a football club. Secure a better replacement before you sell a player. We are doing everything wrong.
  18. I agree you you on Davis et al. But even with them to finish the season last year we were short of impact substitutes like Puncheon. This sees us through the season and should keep us around 8th or above. And it demonstrates clearly that you cant replace players you know can deliver each week. This also demonstrates the reason MoPo said he was leaving. The spending plan I've put in provides the depth of squad to finish the league strongly ie 8th or better. It's whole season not start of the season based. I hope Koeman is a genius, he hasn't got enough money to guarantee success, so it's down to him.
  19. I've assessed this based on near guarantees to fill the slots and minimise the Osvaldo factor. i.e. how much we need to spend to guarantee staying where we are. We could get lucky with some bargain basement players, but then you get what you pay for. Also, every replacement player is under the value of our sales and potential sales.
  20. I think that's a good post. If you are right (& I think you're on to something here) then, the qualities that Cortese and Reed had together worked. So what does Krueger actually bring to the party? Evenif Les Reed delivers this summer, who provides the ruthlessness to succeed and the ambition? It's not Krueger that's for sure.
  21. I think Reed is our only hope for the reason you say, I just need him to show the steel Cortese would've... And say NO MORE SALES. I don't care if Lovren goes on strike. Some time he has to stop the rot.
  22. Not changing views at all. I was keen to give him a chance. So far he's got a manager and is losing on the remaining challenges he facing. Realism is always negative, never optimistic. I have said we need to give Les Reed á chance, he can still turn this round, but so far he is failing to keep the players. Jury's out is all I am saying. Still don't know what value Krueger has added compared to the potential deterrence Cortese would have.
  23. Thanks for clarifying this. I thought he was heading for the first team!
