That report is truly damming, and it’s not exactly in the guardian is it. How on earth can anyone defend that sort of incompetence? The old ‘don’t turn this political’ just won’t wash.

Agree 100% but imagine the uproar.

Clapping is the new poppies isn’t it. Your typical Facebook mum bemoaning anyone who doesn’t dare join in. The scenes on Westminster Bridge yesterday were farcical.

Easily fat Chaz away at Fulham. He was an absolute disgrace that day. Not just the worst striker performance, but one of the worst from anyone I’ve ever seen in a Saints shirt at any level.
-
I think we can now all see why they’ve been hiding Priti Patel.

Still wondering why our borders remain open for all and sundry. Anyone can still fly in from New York, Spain, Italy. All without any screening, quarantine or test. Too far gone to make any difference?

There’s actually a test that gets results in 2 hours. It’s a company with labs in Southampton too (Novacyt). As a shareholder I’ve watched their share price go from 10p to £2 a share since this all started in China. I’ve kept my eye on them obviously extremely closely, and they gained CE mark for Europe in early February and now have FDA approval. They’re pretty much supplying most countries in the world now. The company were in discussions with PHE from January, make no mistake the tests have been available for months. Whatever the benefits or non benefits of testing NHS staff etc, the tests have always been available to us in far far greater numbers.

I think the government, after a shaky start, have handled it well so far. Important that continues.

Gove caught with his pants down lying over the reasons why we aren’t testing more. ‘Shortage of the chemicals needed’ is a load of old tosh, so what’s the real reason?
-
Not really a surprise Boris has it seeing as he was boasting about shaking all those hands in hospital a few weeks ago! Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s passed it to Vallance, Whitty and the Chancellor too.

Every time this discussion crops up, I always have a little chuckle at MLG’s username. And his spectrum tendencies.

I’m really hoping when this is all said and done, that it’ll change the country for the better. Hopefully everyone will appreciate what we have just a little bit more.

Sunak is hugely impressive isn’t he. Not just because he’s a Saints fan.
-
Turns out we do have a magic money tree after all! Staggering times we’re living in.

I appreciate sometimes it can look like that, and I’m sure some teachers don’t need much persuasion, much like plenty of other people in plenty of other professions. But you have to realise, children are dirty. Schools are dirty. Most teachers have colds of some sort 80% or so of the year! Teachers were always going to have to self isolate when the symptoms to do that can be caused by a simple cold. Anyway it’s all irrelevant now, schools will be shut by Friday.
-
Firstly, schools aren’t a childcare service, but at the moment it’s certainly within the national interest so fair enough. The solution is quite simple actually, skeleton staff could remain in school to supervise the children of key workers, particularly nurses and doctors. This isn’t being reported but is readily being done in other countries.
-
Schools will be shut within a week, I think that’s pretty clear. They’ll be nobody left in them anyway now he’s increased it to 14 days isolation for a cough/temperature.
-
Timothy Gowers, possibly one of the brightest people in this country, is currently arguing for a complete lockdown now. His twitter feed is well worth a read. Meanwhile, Patrick Vallance is writing his latest information for us in a Sun article
-
10 more UK deaths. Spain now in complete lockdown. Keep washing those hands everyone please.
-
Yep, I have a raised temperature at the moment so will be doing the 7 days as Boris has instructed.
-
I don’t as it was a live broadcast. But he basically said; ’Not testing alone, not contact tracing alone, not quarantining alone, not social distancing alone. You must do it all’ In other words, the complete opposite of us.
-
WHO chief basically saying we’re doing it wrong. But hey, what does he know?

We are out on our own now with this ‘response’. Let’s see if ‘Britain knows best’ is actually true.
