Putting everything else aside, I'd rather have had the 11/4 at the start of the season off a level start than 4/1 giving a team like Peterborough what could be an 8 point start, but will certainly be at least 5 points

That was massively uninspiring. I've read some of the vitriol and to be honest I don't think anyone on the park had a particularly bad game, but at the same time I don't think we would have scored if we were still out there now. Lambert couldn't get in the game though it wasn't for the want of trying, and Morgan looks like he's trying to do the job of 3 players. Connolly doesn't stand a chance with the ball coming out of the floodlights, and Chamberlain needs to run at the backs more. We need a manager, a sense of purpose and some more strength in depth. Nothing that we don't know already

Saw him play against Basingstoke pre-season, he's certainly no winger. Big lad, probably describe himself as a tough-tackling centre midfielder. He ran the show, albeit against Basingstoke, for the first half and was pretty anonymous in the second. All in all looked worth taking a chance on, again based on a pre-season friendly against Basingstoke...

No, I don't suppose any Saints fan would be happy with that. I know I'm not. Being disappointed and wanting massive changes at the club don't go hand-in-hand though, that's what gets my goat

Is there anyone, anyone at all, disappointed that we didn't win at the weekend and disappointed that we're not winning now, but not at the point of absolute desperation as yet? Or is it just me that hasn't got the razor blades out just yet?

Representative or not a thread about the lack of signings, the perceived wrong turns taken by both the club and the chairman or how the pre-season results aren't good enough are going to attract more attention than a thread that says the signings so far have been pretty good, that the club are working behind the scenes to attract players despite the lack of any pointers, or that the club is being run in the manner that it needs to be run by people that know their business having very recently nearly gone to the wall. The fanbase here may be representative but in my opinion not of the mood. If you took the news at 10 to be representative of what is going on in the world you'd come away with a pretty bleak picture, seeing as a story about how things are mostly ok wouldn't really interest anyone
