  1. Some good stuff in there. I hadn't realised Gomez had covered Wichita Lineman. Just listened to it and it's brilliant. Cheers.
  2. The owner isn't shite, but the people he has hired have been. He's clearly committed to to the club, and has put the cash in. He hasn't run down the academy, made mass redundancies, pissed off the football world, said outrageous things, failed to pay wages, etc. He's done nothing that shit owners so.
  3. It doesn't tick any box on a proper interpretation. It also doesn't tick any box under the public order act. The proposed victims, as Benji highlights, are an institution, and in a foreign jurisdiction. As stupid as his rant was, it's hard to see which crime box it ticks. Like you say, there may be a liberal interpretation of the law though to prove the PM's point.
  4. You sound like Soggy. Who are the Starmer supporters you complain of? Anyways, I agree. The proposed 2 tier system is absurd. Hopefully it gets voted down.
  5. Scrap the green push and I'm all for that. Whatever labour do or don't do, they need to pick the left, right or middle lane, and stop doing an unpopular version of populism.
  6. Nothing will stop the boats. The water ain't going anywhere, neither is our obligation to take in people seeking asylum, and our inability to just send them on their way.
  7. Probably a question for Vylan rather than Benji i'd have thought.
  8. Thanks. That's a great version 👍
  9. Her cover of Zombies by Cranberries is brilliant. One of those classics that'd be easy to slaughter.
  10. For sure, that's inevitable. I'm not calling for ID cards btw, rather I don't see an issue in principle. Done well, they'll serve a useful purpose.
  11. The FB posts highlighted where people were and incited people to attack them, and people did. It was disgraceful behaviour and the strong sentence had the desired affect. Completely different to the Glasto issue. Anyways, this is a Glasto thread and I'll take it no further off course.
  12. I personally have no issue in principle with us carrying ID cards if the the rules on inspection meant that we don't have to show our papers on demand, and they can be shown in a way which helps single out and dealt with people in the kind of scenarios you mention. Used properly, they could be a benefit, and not impact the masses.
  13. Now that I can support! It was daft attention seeking, and sadly, the fall out has gotten them more attention. Kneecap have more of a problem with their comments. Their music is even worse.
  14. She's brilliant. Like Olivia Rodrigo, not my cup of tea, but brilliant nonetheless. I loved that Flowers song she did a while back.
  15. That wasn't the chant. It was against a group of people, a military, miles from here. If people are stupid enough to target individual British Jews for whatever reason, they will.
  16. The incitement was specific against the IDF and not targeted against British Jews. Sure, some dinlo's could target British Jews on the back of it. The chants were stupid, but I don't see that anything will come of it.
  17. There's a world of difference inciting people to burn down hotels in this country to kill people, and attacking the army of a foreign country. The first can he done by people in this country. The latter can't be.
  18. One of the highlights for me. Brilliant band, and superb live.
  19. Thanks. We're agreed that the NI changes were a mistake, but, revenue had to be increased. They should have just reduced the daft Tory NI giveaway. Although we agree that labour have been crap, what do you think that Sunak and Hunt would have done that would have improved things from where they left them? Or just carried in as they were?
  20. Yep, agreed. I think closer ties to the EU would have happened if it wasn't for the Trump factor. We're trying to keep both sweet, but if we have to pick a lane, it's the EU all day long.
  21. Hundreds of millions, no, but the recent steel works scenario was a farce. We had to, basically, steal the plant from the Chinese, then buy overpriced coal from them to make it work. We need steel furnaces for military purposes if nothing else, and coal to operate the furnaces. Whatever that costs is necessary. We also need to be able to power our power stations in time of need. What we don't need is a bigger coal industry than that, but we need more than we have.
  22. The thing is, we're fucked. Personally, I'd tell the electorate that - lay it out - and make it clear that they'll get poorer if we don't tax the super rich as they'll be the ones paying. Get the public onside. In reality, they're moving the deckchairs around the Titanic, and it's not going to get any better by continually rearranging them. I'd explain that in reality the number of illegal immigrants isn't high and tell them we can't just shove them on planes or boats, and despite the BS from other parties, they ain't doing that either. I'd explain that the Tory government oversaw mass legal immigration and that they're getting numbers down and that like it or not, Brexit was a shit show, and we need legal immigration to give us a workforce in vital areas like the NHS. I'd have a plan to control legal migration and explain that we're limiting it to people we need, not every one who thinks that Blackpool looks a nice place to work for the summer. Give them some some honesty, explain the reality of a Reform or Tory government, and stop fucking about trying to appease the people that can actually help. Re Reform. The sad thing is that nobody I've spoken to who like them has any idea what they actually stand for, or considers what a reform government would actually do. They think they'll get a better NHS, that boats suddenly won't depart from France, that services will increase and taxes drop - none of them even considering that life doesn't work like that. Tragic that people think that Farage is a man of the people, and it's staggering how many people can see that Trump is a maniac but in the same breath see Nigel as our saviour.
  23. Far worse than expected, yes, far worse than what went before, no. What would the direction of travel been if the Tories had gotten back in? Increased borrowing, benefit cuts, other cuts, more distance between us and Europe. Anything else? Anything positive?
  24. They're superb. I'm enjoying Father John Misty bringing the pace down. Quality.
